Musciara Siracusa Resort

Wonderful little hotel with a perfect beach. Fantastic breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea. Great food for lunch and dinner there too. Also a perfect location - 10 minutes walk into the old town for exploring and restaurants in the evening.

Musciara is a stylish boutique hotel right on the crystal clear water and just a 15 minute walk to Ortigia. The owners are very welcoming and staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Loved the breakfast buffet, the food is delicious and sitting out by the water in the morning is bliss. I’d definitely stay again.

This family-run resort-style hotel was a very pleasant surprise... Extraordinary, in fact! The hotel is perfectly as pictured on their website. It is a lovely little spot overlooking the Syracuse marina and island of Ortigia. Specific feedback is as follows: Rooms. We stayed in one of the apartments (Casa Teresa) and loved every minute. The apartment was well-furnished including all the accessories and objet that you would expect in a proper home. There was even a library of novels. The kitchen was decently equipped and included welcome basics like salt, sugar and coffee. The bed was comfortable. Towels and toiletries were lux. There was a great rooftop terrace. The apartment is dispersed over 3 floors and the spiral staircase should be a real consideration for anyone with mobility issues. Morning sun is intense on the roof terrace, so it is worth asking about an umbrella or shade. Restaurant: We enjoyed several meals at the waterside restaurant. The menu changes daily and the dishes were divine. They have a solid selection of local wines. Definitely try local Sicilian dessert made with marzipan... and the carpaccio was wonderful! Common Areas: The interior of the hotel is quite beautiful. It would definitely be a great space to enjoy a drink or breakfast. Beach: The beach is a gem in Syracuse. While it is man-made, it's great for gentle swimming and wading. There are lots of sunbeds, umbrellas and lounge spaces. It is fully serviced including towels, drinks, light lunches, etc. Location: Historic Ortigia is about a 15-20 minute walk. We didn't mind. It's not the most beautiful walk but you do pass by a fantastically large gelateria! We walked sometimes and took cabs other times. Regardless, I preferred the location for its wonderful sunset views of Ortigia. Staff: The Musciara is run by a lovely group of people from the Manager on down. I have never encountered such a genuinely enthusiastic and friendly group. They have my compliments. I would not hesitate to recommend the Musciara. We are already thinking about a return trip. Of note, this is an adults-only hotel so is a tranquil gem in the heart of Siracusa!

The property is in the most beautiful position and is kept very well. Laura the host is very polite. However there is a finesse missing that would make this place incredible. The beds are hard as are the pillows. The lunches are good but expensive and the coffee is terrible. But what a gem. Close to town, amazing beach, really and awesome break.

They say first impressions count right? I’ve just arrived at the hotel after spending a frustrating 20 minutes or so trying to navigate the narrow one-way streets around the hotel and not to stall the hire car for the hundredth time. Upon arrival I receive such a warm welcome from the young lady who helps me with my bags, shows me to my room, and offers to park my car which I’ve abandoned on the street outside. Follow that with a top-notch lunch overlooking the water, some tourist maps and a personal welcome from the chef to ask how my lunch was and all is good again. This is a really special spot and my first impressions were thankfully retained throughout my stay, whether that be relaxing on the small terrace, eating the wonderful food, chatting to the staff, or listening to the sea from my room. The building is also beautifully restored. A great choice and one I would have no hesitation to recommend. Thank you so much, your hotel is wonderful.

Very stylish, intimate, and comfortable. Hospitable, owner family on site. Almost a destination in itself. Good kitchen. Bit hard to find, in an unlikely neighborhood, but not scary. 10-15 minute walk to Ortigia.

Amazing breakfast every morning, very clean hotel with beautiful views of the ocean. Unfortunately we were here during a time when the water was unseasonably rough so we didn’t get to spend much time on the beach. Guess that means we will have to come back! The location is very walkable to the Syracuse sites as well as walking into Ortigia which we did every day and sometimes evening. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a nice, quiet, clean place to stay!

I do not normally write a review but this time I have to....Based on my personal experience I found this place charming, relaxing , stylish . I cannot fault it. if you visit this part of Sicily is a MUST...... Great service and food.......top notch.....

A diamond situated in the heart of the city. An amazing beach front property Friendly staff Very close to Ortega island. A must to visit.
