"A boutique gem. Keep it secret but go!"

10.0

What an incredible find. Small, chic, gorgeous boutique hotel run by brother and sister, Laura and Salvatore. It is a 'resort' only in the true Italian sense (private beach with sheltered swimming - amazing!) and in every regard the service is intensely personal. A small team of lovely young people assist the owners and go way beyond the norm in their attention to detail. Stay here!

"Top luxury boutique hotel"

10.0

Luxury boutique hotel, amazing service, amazing private and relaxed beach, amazing food specially for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended. It is a family business and you will feel like part of it. There is a car park nearby, ortigia is also nearby and strategic location to visit the east coast of Sicily

"Almost amazing"

8.0

The communal areas of the hotel are absolutely beautiful. Particularly the interior and the room though not to the save standard was nice and clean. The breakfast was good although it could do with a menu so you knew what was available (over and above the buffet table). The staff seemed quite young and although they understood everything we said they didnt confirm it back to as their English wasn't great. Two negatives - food menu was a joke 30 Euro for a starter and didnt look that great. Went to a trattoria 5 minutes walk away and had a delicious meal for two with wine for the same price. (Cocktails also expensive though were very good). Beach is nice but loads of plastic washing up and a lot of rubbish in the sea which makes swimming slightly unpleasant.

"Way too expensive"

Crazy... Just crazy... €80 just for the beach access with parasol and 2 sun loungers... Nothing else.. no worth it at all. The position is not even great and for that amount of money you can surely go somewhere nicer. Disgusted

"The Hidden Gem"

10.0

I think we fell in love with this little piece of heaven as soon as we arrived. Two members of staff greeted us at the gate, and wheeled our suitcases past the lemon and palm trees, along the decking whilst “Love is in the Air” played on the hotel’s speakers. As we entered the family-run hotel, I was immediately impressed by the exquisite and tasteful decor, chosen by Laura, one of the owners of the resort. White ash woodwork complements the displays of numerous shells and corals. Throughout the foyer and indoor dining area there are natural hues of creams, combined with hints of turquoise in the luxurious soft furnishings. In the spacious lounge area, there are gorgeous purple sofas and chairs in which you can sit and look out of the floor to ceiling window onto the almost still aqua marine water, and beyond to Siracusa and the Island of Ortigia. The hotel’s overall feel is worthy of a feature in a “Beautiful Homes” magazine, as every little detail has been lovingly thought of and accomplished. We were handed the key ( attached to shells, of course!) and taken to room number six, overlooking the beautiful sea. It has a Juliet balcony with white ash shutters. The room is a decent size with a large double bed, upon which is crisp white bedding. Even the fluffy white towels had been bundled with rattan and shells. There are also complimentary flip flops, a shabby chic wardrobe with a full length mirror, safe and a mini bar/fridge. My only suggestion would be to have some drawers or shelves, as we had to leave some of our items in our suitcases. There is a double walk- in shower with Etro toiletries (bath / shower gel, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap and vanity set) .The only sound we could hear at night was the gentle hum of the much needed air conditioning, or the water gently lapping at the shore line, if we chose to leave the doors open. Normally , a buffet style breakfast is available, but due to the Covid 19 restrictions, things were a little different in that we chose what we wanted to eat, and the waiter or waitress brought the items to our table on the patio. One morning we returned from a walk to discover that we were the only guests, so two tables had been set up to face the sea with various delicious fresh food items already beautifully displayed for us. We felt like royalty, sat there watching the small fish in the clear sea. The small private beach contains more than ample wooden sun loungers, tables and parasols with comfortable mattresses and towels provided by the attentive “beach” staff. There are also a few larger beds on decking, underneath muslin type sheets suspended from four bamboo posts. At the far end of the beach, there is a raised grassy area with numerous beds and large parasols for some much needed shade. You’re even given a watering can to wash the sand off your feet when you return to your sun lounger! The hotel dog, Buddy (pronounced Badi) , the 12 year old Golden Retriever , faithfully follows Salvo (the other owner) around the resort, but if you whisper in his ear (Buddy’s not Salvo’s 😃) , he’ll join you for a paddle in the sea. Overall, this is truly a beautiful place to stay. It’s private , thanks to the wooden fencing . It’s quiet, relaxing, with mellow music playing at various times of the day. It’s spotlessly clean, well maintained, with lovely, friendly owners and staff. It’s probably been said numerous times before , but this is an oasis of calm, and practically paradise. Well done to everyone for creating the right ambience. Tutto bene. 😍

This is a beautiful, boutique hotel that has sole use of the only beach in Syracuse. It is run with incredible attention to detail from the beautiful bathrooms dinner to the room keys with their festoons of tiny shells. The hotel is situated a fifteen minute walk from Ortgia in an old building that has been sympathetically adapted as a hotel. It sits right on the water with its dining terrace literally inches form the water

"Just Needs a Staff and a Manager"

6.0

First off, the good stuff: the hotel itself is beautiful and having a beach in the summer in Siracusa is critical. I’m afraid that’s where the good stuff ends. On arrival, we rang the doorbell for 15 minutes standing in the 100 degree sun before we were greeted by a surly young man who could barely bring himself to say buongiorno. The safe in our room was locked when we arrived and we had to tell 3 staff members and the manager/owner Laura twice before it was resolved (two days later). Laura seemed much more interested in socializing with friends of hers who were staying at the hotel than actually working. In general, the staff was young, slow, untrained and unprofessional. While the hotel charges 5 star rates it fails to deliver a 5 star experience. Further dimming its luster are the minimum stay requirements and punitive cancellation policies.

Musciara is special. Very very special. It’s warm, intimates, stunning down to the smallest details. Well located with a gorgeous beach they clean daily, sparkling water, and catering to every whim. Every staff member smiles and gives their best. Laura and Salvatore are always around to make sure anything and everything you need is taken care of. The place is more than 5 star, more than just beautiful- it is an experience in itself.
