Albright Hussey Manor

Lovely period property, friendly staff - although it appeared few staff with many hats, nice breakfast and nice location.

The newer annexe had a weird smell, mostly in the corridor but also in the rooms. The rooms were clean but dated, eighties decor and pine furniture didn't really reflect the period setting. The mattress in our room was quite soft and after two nights was starting to give me backache. Comfort is so personal though but hotel beds are normally reasonably firm. Lastly a minor comment, breakfast was lovely, beautiful old restaurant area but then someone turned on some music and Adele didn't quite fit the bill. Maybe some mild classical music may have helped the ambience.

A wonderful place for a special occasion. In our case an 80 th birthday.Room for the meal was breathtaking when all laid out. Warming fire completed the winter scene.Staff on hand for every need and friendly helpful and considerate at all times,without exception. Food delicious and professionally served. Lovely relaxing evening with those staying over,and delicious sandwich supper.The upgraded room to a four poster was amazing. Thank you all for such a special time,which will always be remembered.

Nothing really,but care needs to be taken on the slight slope between the lounges and reception.

Location was good for Shrewsbury town. Bed was comfy. The property was clean. Staff were lovely, very helpful.

The room was cold but they immediately bought a heater. The bar was freezing cold but the bar manager put the heating on. Breakfast for a Sunday morning finished at 9:30 am a little early for us on a Sunday morning unfortunately most of the food on the plate was cold.

Felt it was a bit petty that the pillow was removed from the bed as I was single occupancy

I like its old world charm and the helpfulness of the staff. The breakfast is also very good.

The breakfast was a bit chaotic as the layout of the hot food seemed a bit disorganised. Staff were all lovely but again slightly disorganised albeit that one waitress was there on her first day so that was understandable but still think the layout could be better
