Wingate by Wyndham Elkins

We visit Elkins frequently and have stayed at many of the hotels in the area. We decided to try the Wingate by Wyndham this time (April 2026). We were not disappointed and found it to currently be the best option in Elkins. We stayed in Room 322. It is a large room with 2 queen beds, a desk and 2 chairs and an easy chair. It has a mini-fridge and coffee maker. It does not have a microwave. The room (and all the common areas) were very clean. The bathroom is good size (shower/tub combo) and has toiletries and plenty of towels. There is maid service every 3 days or upon request, but you can get fresh towels/more bath amenities at the front desk at any time. (We asked for a room facing the back of the hotel/parking lot. The other option is facing the road and we were concerned about road noise from cars/trucks or the nearby hospital.) With the rear facing room, never heard a peep our entire visit. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is in easy walking distance to downtown. (Highly recommend a visit to Bambino's Bistro-see separate review: if you like Italian food.) Check in was friendly and quick. They provide Chocolate Chip Cookies as you arrive. Nice touch! There is tea/coffee/cocoa available 24/7 in the lobby. There is also a microwave in the lobby/breakfast area you can use any time. The included breakfast was your standard hotel hot buffet breakfast, but the attendant went above and beyond replenishing everything quickly and he was very friendly. The only downsides I would note are: it was hard for us to sort out the TV and remote. A paper list of channels would be helpful. Also, the A/C and fan will not run simultaneously and "cut off." Overall, this is a great hotel for a visit to Elkins. I would recommend it and plan to return.

It was conveniently located and clean
