Residence Inn by Marriott Amelia Island

Great place to stay . Shirt walk to beach . Probably the nicest , most friendly staff of any place we’ve ever stayed . Nice pool area . Not our first stay & we will be back .

Great location. Very clean. Nice pool.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and have been staying here 4 times each year for many years and it has never been this bad. We checked in after a 7 hour drive and were getting ready for our dinner reservation when we hear loud gurgling in the bathroom sink. When we got to the sink, there was black junk and horrible smelling chunks coming out of the drain! Needless to say it was disgusting. The liquid part went back down but the black stuff stayed so we rinsed it as best as we could but had to leave. We got back from dinner and got in the shower but there was no soap in the dispenser!!! I had to get out and get the only sliver of bar soap provided from the sink! The size is just big enough for a newborn baby, not 2 adults! If you’re not going to provide bar soap, at least make sure there’s soap in the shower dispenser! The rooms are dated with dark furniture and carpet so you can’t see the dirt, the bathroom cabinet was all warped, the carpet leading to the bathroom was shredding and stained, the corners of the bathroom mirror were turning brown, the glass frame of the artwork in the bathroom was dirty and splattered, the stove burners were dirty with grime, there was no dish soap, the dishwasher was beeping when we walked in and had to find how to turn it off. Unfortunately this hotel has gone downhill. The next morning we had the complimentary breakfast and it was terrible. The scrambled eggs were so hard they were like rubber. I had the coffee which was good. I told Latanya at the front desk what happened with the room and she was apologetic and would speak with her manager and call me. Obviously no one has called. I have a second reservation which I will be canceling and will stay elsewhere.

Excellent for short and long stays

We have stayed at this hotel before and came back because it met all of our expectations! It's clean and the staff is very friendly! It has all the amenities that we look for as well! It was a last minute stay and I do wish we had longer to stay. We'll definitely be back!

My stay at the Residence Inn in Fernandina Beach was absolutely wonderful! One of the highlights of my stay was the beautiful set of trails located right behind the hotel. It was a joy to explore the area and observe the local wildlife, including birds, bunnies, and even alligators! The trails truly enhance the experience and make the hotel feel like a fantastic getaway. Additionally, the location is perfect; the beach is just a couple of blocks away, making it easy to enjoy the ocean whenever you like. Upper elite member late check out was granted without any issues.

The pool was a big disappointment. It was not clean. The water was cloudy to the point where you could not see to the bottom of the pool, even to see your own feet when standing in a depth of about 4 feet. It was apparent that the filter was not working. Complaint to the front desk only led them to say they would add more chlorine. That would not solve the problem. There were leaves and other organic debris floating on the surface of the water. We stayed 10 days, as we had no where else to go since we were visiting friends on the island. The rooms could do with an upgrade as well. Worn carpeting needs replacement, Wood finishes in bathroom warn and stained.

Very close to the beach

It's not the place, it's the people that make the difference. Oh, don't get me wrong. The facilities of the hotel are quite attractive and well maintained. That because of people like Sean, the housekeeping manager, who went out of his way to great us warmly and introduce himself. It's because of people like Jeremy. Jeremy works the buffet and dining area in the mornings. That's his job. His impact is far broader. Jeremy spreads light and positivity to everyone he interacts with. Because of the place, and especially the people, you will have a delightful stay at the Residence Inn Amelia Island Fernadina Beach.
