"Stunning location on edge of the Mawddach Estuary"

10.0

The Hotel has a fantastic location right on the edge of the estuary with stunning views. Rooms in the old station annex are simple but clean and warm and comfortable. Food is home cooked, good and excellent value for money. Owners are warm and friendly. A great base for walking or cycling, the cycle way to Barmouth passes right by the door.

"January sanctuary for the solo traveller."

10.0

This hotel was exactly what I was looking for, a quiet, safe, comfortable, private, January retreat in a fabulous location with well cooked food and friendly staff.

"Pretty hotel in beautiful surroundings"

8.0

The hotel was not as pleasing as in previous years because re-leasing and re-tenanting seems to be taking place. Consequently funding for improvements and updates does not appear to be forthcoming. The rooms are in need of renovating and the restaurant menu is a little dull and not varying much from what we have been offered in previous years. Breakfast is excellent as ever! Improvements should take place when the hotel's future is more secure.

"Peaceful friendly pub in lovely location"

8.0

Had the family room and would have preferred ordinary double but expedia put me there; had to use the childrens' room to watch TV though the staff said there was normally a TV in the main bedroom which would be replaced. Very comfortable bed. The food was very good both at breakfast (best cooked breakfast I've had for years, all cooked to order) and the barmeals at night. Limited but very nice menu. Would stay again though will book direct. Lots of good walks on the doorstep and beautiful peaceful location.

Lovely location on estuary. Food nice and bar fairly cosy but dining room pretty soulless.

"Beautiful estuary views"

8.0

We enjoyed our stay at your hotel including the view, dinner, bar, breakfast and the welcoming reception. There is one exception I would like to share that may help upgrade the rooms to equal quality. A bacteria culture in our bathroom emanated a sweet smell difficult to ignore. It seems like the expense to replace the shower curtain is worth the investment.

"You must stay here, we loved it."

10.0

Wonderful small hotel in the most amazing location. Even though we live in Wales down the coast less than 90 minutes away we enjoyed this place. The staff are friendly the breakfast is all you could possibly eat with a good selection of starters. Level walk just feet from the hotel, along the estuary and good for cycling and goes on for miles, we walked 9 miles in one morning. Forget the fancy hotels that keep you away from nature, life is more than that ! you will love it here. Watch the Sun go down with the last rays of light dancing on the sea and over the mountains. A little heaven on Earth, we will be back. Thanks to all the staff ( the lady at the bar is very pretty ) back to reality, it is an old building with walls 3 feet thick and solid stone and a lot of character. You just must stay here, if you don't you will always wish you had.

"Fantastic views of the estuary and lovely food"

Fantastic view of the estuary from our room and spotted numerous different types of bird. Lovely walks in the area and will visit again. Hotel a little tired in places but did not put me off and enjoyed the experience.

"Nice view"

Lovely views. Great location. For £120 for one night and London priced drinks I thought a smile might have been included. Sadly not. ☹️

"Very pleasant next to the estuary very friendly"

Not to much to say as it was over night only, but would be hapy to go back if the opportunity arose
