Ascot House

Great shower and bathroom. Willow! Great breakfast offerings. Tea was very good. The public rooms and suites were lovely, comfortable, clean, and in good repair.

More comfortable seating in the suite. Coffee at breakfast could have been stronger. One waitstaff member’s English was inadequate for the job she was assigned.

Lovely host who makes sure everyone has everything they need. Good breakfast, well prepared. Good location. Only a 15 min walk into York City centre. We walked but there is a bus that stops nearby. Convince store and bar across the road and a park next door.

Scaffolding all around the building and this was never mentioned before we arrived - I do have pictures - so therefore not value for money and would expect a refund a big crack in the wall outside our bedroom but not part of our bedroom - again I do have a picture - so therefore not value for money and would expect a refund

First class breakfast,delicious and plenty of choice from the buffet table. Room was really lovely, very spacious and exceptionally clean. Beautiful decor through out, felt like you were staying in a very high quality Victorian guest house with the bedroom being more modern in decor and the bathroom being more updated with a large walk in shower and lovely powerful shower head. The selection of drink making , tea,coffee,hot choc,biscuits and little toiletries for use were excellent too.Also walking in to the guest house it had a beautiful flowery scent to welcome you, which eventually I worked out to be the gorgeous vase of Lillie's on the reception desk!

The mattress on the bed was a little to hard for me, but I do suffer from a lot of neck and shoulder pain, so when staying away that is always a problem for me anyway.

Breakfast was the best couldn't fault it. The room was very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect, just a short walk into the city.

Plenty of choice for breakfast. The room was warm and very spacious, plenty of storage space for clothes . Very clean, good housekeeping.

A lift would have been useful for me as l have problems climbing stairs.
