Personable, welcoming owner and generally lovely, helpful staff. Down to earth, cosy, relaxed ambience. Dinner is very good. Spotlessly clean and comfy hotel. Dogs are made to feel particularly welcome.

It's not a bad breakfast, but it could be even better - e.g. more fresh fruit options, greek yoghurt, croissants. Don't like.. cheap sliced supermarket bread for toast accompanying breakfast. The waitress said my friend couldn't have a sourdough roll instead of toast for her avocado and poached eggs, even though sourdough roll is on the menu for another breakfast dish, and sourdough is the only bread my friend can eat due to her gluten intolerance. It was a raised eyebrow moment. Would love to have a cafetiere and ground coffee in the bedroom rather than instant coffee.

Accommodation absolutely beautiful, recently refurbished and decorated I suspect. Breakfast varied and table service so efficient, main courses were delivered before first completed! Some furniture in the dining room a little tired but of no significant consequence.
