A superb stay! Glorious location overlooking Esthwaite Water with links to Beatrix Potter who stayed here for a period, editing Peter Rabbit. Tranquil, beautiful views and wonderfully quiet due to minimal through traffic along the quiet, winding roads. Glorious English country house decor. which is inviting and quietly understated. Superb food! The three course dinner is a must do! A gracious, dryly humorous host in Richard and wonderful staff who are warmly welcoming and will assist in any way they can. This is a taste of an earlier time in English hospitality and not to be missed!

The staff were so friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you Richard for your hospitality and the wonderful catering. The breakfast was delicious and the evening meal, including my vegetarian option, were of a very high standard and delicious. The views were incredible over Esthwaite Water. We would definitely return.
