Seagull Inn Bed & Breakfast

Perfect location for a small, beautiful town.

I love this B & B - Mendocino is all walkable - second time staying here - the upstairs room we had this time felt a little cramped but cozy with a great view - excellent breakfast - had an amazing dinner at nearby Trillium

The upstairs smelled a bit like dog (or very musty) - the earliest breakfast time slot available was 8:30 which is a bit late for some of us

Breakfast was delicious and furniture was suited to the historical area. Proprietor was understanding that we had booked thinking dogs were allowed and agreed to allow our pet.

The proprietor tried to charge a large fee for cleaning for dog. He also stated we shouldn’t use a service like Booking.com to make stays. I found that offensive because I rely on this site to help find good places to stay. We attempted to booked for 2 nights Saturday and Sunday to have 2 beds. We got there and had only one small bed. We came back from a hike in a remote area where there was no cell service to find the maid and proprietor in our room packing up our belongings. It was shocking and rather intrusive to find they had removed our personal belongings and touched all of our things. I do not recommend this place at all. Other local hotels in Mendocino provide a bottle of wine, a small fridge and welcome dogs instead of treating them as disgusting messes.

Delicious breakfast - very comfortable - friendly and attentive owner/staff

What a gem of a B&B. Lovely building, homemade muffins for breakfast (including gluten free), wonderful staff. My husband had a medical incident while we were there, and Bonnie went out of her way to help us. We did not get to do as much exploring of the surroundings as we had hoped, but now we have an excuse to return on another trip. We will certainly stay at the Seagull again on the next trip.

Can't say there is anything I didn't like

Ian, the owner, was very friendly and inviting. He took the time to tell us about the town, where to go for a great meal, and music. The breakfast delivered to our room was wonderful. Fresh fruit and bread pudding! Excellent coffee!! My recommendation for a fine dining experience is The Ledford House, (NOT Luna T., ugh), which is about a 15 minute drive south of Mendocino in Albion. Get there in time for the sunset when EVERYONE just stops and watches the sun slip down. Spectacular!! The food was fabulous, and soooo cheap compared to home. I recommend the duck . . . To die for. A Bucket List experience!

The bathroom was too small. But it's an old house . . . Everything in Mendocino is old . . . Lower your expectations and just go with the flow. 😁
