O'Reilly's occupies an exceptional piece of the more remote southern Lamington National Park and has a fascinating history. Still owned by the O'Reilly family, this is both its strength and possibly its weakness. If you are prepared to pay a premium and stay in the Mountain Villas you will enjoy luxury in the wilderness. The older Retreat accommodation is unfortunately dated and suffering a few maintenance issues and a general unkempt vibe. However the complex has a charming, rustic...almost Fawlty Towers feel about it...a sort of cross between a National Park camp and a last century time share. So be prepared to go with the flow, don't miss the early morning bird walk (hand feeding the local Regent Bowerbirds!), the free Tree Top walk and choose a pizza with a view in the bar rather than the overpriced restaurant. Good short walks- Moran's Falls and Python Rock.

Die Zimmer sind sehr abgewohnt und müssten dringend saniert werden. Es gibt lediglich einen kleinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer, bei dieser Lage fänden wir eine kleine Küche super, damit man nicht nur auf das Café und Restaurant angewiesen ist. Das Café fanden wir wirklich nicht gut, überteuert noch dazu. Wir hatten viel Regen und es war auch relativ kalt, da war es in den Zimmern doch eher ungemütlich und feucht. Lt. Booking sind wir davon ausgegangen, dass der SPA Bereich dabei ist, es ist jedoch so, dass man dort extra bezahlen muss.

The rainforest and hospitality at O'Reilly's is unmatched in Australia. Walking into the Lamington National Park rainforest at O'Reilly's is like entering another world. The age and beauty of the forest, the abundance of waterfalls and exotic birds has to be seen to be believed. The O'Reilly family has been serving guests at their retreat for the past 100 years, offering first class accommodation, food, coffee, beers and wines. It's certainly one for the bucket list; you'll never forget or regret it.

The 'Romance in The Rainforest' was a great package that started at O'Reilly's Winery on the way up, with a picnic basket of goodies that was really lovely. We were able to chill out and literally just turn up for meals at the Guest House and there were plenty of choices that were very satisfying. We enjoyed bushwalking in the tree tops, suspension bridges, local wildlife and the reward of seeing the waterfalls after walking through the well maintained trails. The staff were exceptional with their attitude, knowledge of the O'Reilly history and their service throughout out visit.

I liked the peace and nature vibe at this hotel! The mountain view from the balcony was awesome. The facilities were good, and the O'Reilly family members made us feel so welcome. The century- long history of this place adds such a unique touch.

Bathroom upgrades are essential, as broken and stained basins create an unpleasant experience. Deep cleaning is needed in rooms, with spiderwebs visible in every corner. Food at the rainforest bar and mountain cafe was very average.
