Very outdated, very dirty, some staff were pleasant

Based on the “Exceptionally clean rooms” advertisement, we decided to try this motel on September 9,2022. First thing you notice in room #3 is the stench. Then you see the utterly FILTHY carpet and the only chair in the room is equally filthy. Proprietor claimed the carpet is simply “stained” . Of course we DO know the difference. There is damage all over the room including dents in the fridge and dirt and scuffs on the walls . Please don’t be fooled by the advertising for this place. We would request that the proprietor be forced to change these ads.

So glad to have found this place. We were glad they had a cancellation the day of check in. It had a clean bed with two pillows each person. Blankets in the bed. A/C and heat unit. Table, dresser, and side table. Cable TV. Mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Hot shower with bath towels, face towels, and hand towels. Soap and shampoo provided. Nice staff. The area has trees and a lawn. Good corner lot in a residential area. The only thing I would improve is to have the deadlock work.

Beautiful older hotel. Room was large, with two queen beds, and a full kitchenette. Full-sized refrigerator. Bathroom was kind of small and the shower head was weak. Beds were a bit too firm for my taste but I slept well. Nice AC unit kept the room cool during a heat wave. Easy parking and access to room. Friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again, even thought the prices have tripled since the pandemic.

I was here for 2 night for work very nice rooms very good price and plesant checking in, I was here last summer for work and will keep coming back. The rooms are clean and cozy with fridge micro wave very comfy pleasant no noise

You definitely get what you pay for. Room was filthy and had an unpleasant smell. Something that I hope was some sort of food splashed on the walls. Lamp shades and curtains were so dirty I'm not sure what color they were supposed to be. Toilet ran the whole time I was there. There were days that house keeping never came to clean or replace towels. Hot water ran out quickly so don't expect to wash yourself off in a nice hot shower Holes in the walls and ceiling were poorly patched and not even painted. There are cameras all over, it's the kind of place where they might be hidden in the rooms too. The wifi was free but, didn't work very well, and after I connected to it all sorts of weird stuff started happening to my phone (new apps I didn't download, processes that hadn't been there before started running in the background). Pretty sure I saw a few drug deals go down in the short time I was there. Also heard some people talking about doing drugs and paying for sex. My advice, Stay away! Pay the extra money for your own safety and get a room somewhere else.

This hotel is a decent place to stay, room was clean and did not smell for an older motel, the bathroom is outdated but if your staying for a night and need a place to stay it’s a good choice. I would stay here again and I would recommend staying here for a night or two. There is nothing specia

This was an okay place to stay. Staff was busy visiting with someone while we checked in. I gathered it was a family member or friend. Therefore, we filled out the info requested, got our room key, and went to our room. No mention was made there was a basic breakfast of muffins, Rice Krispie bars, bananas, oranges, coffee. Therefore, we picked up some juice and rolls at the gas station the night before. Also disappointing was our having to request another packet of coffee and cups for our second day there as the housekeeper failed to refill them. We did not leave a “tip” for the housekeeper as we feel she/he should be adequately paid by the motel owner the money they deserve.

Nice older motel. Clean rooms. Easy location to get to. Counter staff was friendly. Room had a fridge and microwave which was nice...close to the zoo and other attractions. The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable, I would stay here again

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were not willing to pay the high hotel prices around the Duluth area during a July weekend. This place is reasonable. It is a nice motel, built into a hill, off the beaten path. Motel staff was very friendly. We never once had any noise issues. Room wasn’t large & fancy like some hotels we generally stay at. But, it worked out well. It was big enough for what we needed. Bed was fine. I slept well. Free breakfast wasn’t anything great, every morning I went to a McDonald’s not too far away for breakfast. Lake Superior Zoo is about 1 mile, that place is awesome. Numerous bike trails in the area. If you bring mountain bikes along, you have a nice trail to jump on in the back of the motel. There are also numerous cool trails throughout the Duluth area. Getting to downtown attractions was easy, it was only a 10 minute drive from the motel.
