Excellent breakfast in a historic inn that is full of charms

Really nice friendly hotel with good accommodation excellent facilities and located in the centre of town. We were halfway through the Hadrian’s Wall cycle way and it was ideal place to stay with friendly efficient service, good food and staff who really looked after you. Great would recommend and hope to stay again.

Loved this property, lovely staff and nicely decorated comfy rooms. They even let our friends come in and have breakfast with us when they weren’t staying there. Nice gesture. Food was really good.

I also found the staff very helpful and responsive.

It was a very nice place to stay, excellent food, lively bar and clean and comfortable room. There was no welcome gift as promised by Hotels.com and there was a bit of a mix up in that although I had already paid the hotel insisted I pay again, the £300 was refunded during my stay as it was the hotels mistake.

Lovely location in town right next to other pubs and restaurants. Staff were excellent and the pub was really clean and tidy. We took a trip around the various pubs which was friendly and fun. Highly recommend.
