I loved the location and the fact that the hotel is itself a town sight, considering Dickens stayed there and used it as an inspiration for his David Copperfield. The rooms are clean and tidy and the people working at El Sol restaurant downstairs, with whom you check in and out, very kind.

The Jacuzzi, in my opinion, doesn't work very well or we'd need better instructions. Water for the shower took a while to get hot and sometimes didn't get hot enough, as I suppose they have a small boiler. No lift and the bed wasn't very comfortable, at least not for me. I didn't mind the fact that the curtains weren't blackout but someone could.

Location and staff.

There was a noisy pump in Tobago on that for no radon made loads of loud noise after midnight.

The location was perfect

No hot water on arrival, warned by the staff and had hot water later in the day. Staff member said that it was a 500 year old building. But this doesn’t mean it’s a 500 year old water system surely. The room was extremely cramped as well with very little space. The bathroom needs a good clean with watermarks all down the shower walls.

Non c’era acqua calda. Non abbiamo potuto fare una doccia. Per scoprire poi dal personale che è un problema che hanno sempre perché edificio molto vecchio e non rinnovato. Abbiamo pagato per una stanza matrimoniale superior, ma ci è stata data una matrimoniale molto piccola. La Beckett room, se volete verificare. Credo sia scorretto. Odore di vecchio e sporco, soprattutto nel bagno.

Great location, early check in which was a bonus, luggage was stored onsite after check out, staff friendly, restaurant staff friendly, nice room with a cool view in heart of the city.

Size of bathroom and toilet (which are separated by the way) are very small, intermittent hot water, no wardrobe, just a cupboard under stairs (see photo), space around bed is limited, no hand soap in toilet cupboard, no reception desk so therefore no hotel staff available before restaurant opens (emergency contact number given but not highlighted on check in).

The location was very central and the room were quirky.

Unfortunately there was no hot water on the Sunday morning which was the same for three of the other rooms that our friends were in.

Vieux parquet qui fait des bosses sous la moquette, lit qui grince, escalier très étroit pour l’accès (j’ai failli tomber), très bruyant la nuit, et surtout nous n’avions pas d’eau chaude et personne n’a rien pu faire.
