Hotel Garden Saladina – Adults Only +16

Almost all the staff were happy and smiley (one perhaps a little too smiley), we were surprised at how big the complex was, and were pleased it was quite close to the beach (though i tended to drive there as we had hired a car). Food was different each day which was a nice surprise, and while there were the usual chips and the sort, there were some lovely spanish dishes too. Recommend going all inclusive if you go here. The 2 disappointments for me and my wife was the room, which was in a bit of a bad way - we were not told how to switch on the lights (room keycard into slot in wall), and the beds (2 singles kind of pushed together) were extremely hard. The evening entertainment was pretty sub standard for a 3 star hotel. Dinner finished at 9pm, and entertainment was supposed to start at 930 - yet it always seemed to be a rush to get everything set up as it had not been done during the day (when the main bar area is closed). Plus the person who did the entertaining spoke very quickly in 3 or 4 different languages making it very hard for anyone to understand regardless of where they were from.

From the minute we arrived at 23.20 hours, we knew we had made the right choice. Food and drink was offered and the reception staff very helpful. As I had sustained a knee injury a couple of months before our holiday, I requested a ground floor apartment. To my delight, not only did the hotel provide a ground floor accommodation close to the restaurant, they also gave us a free upgrade which included a private garden space. The room was spotless, well appointed with an excellent bathroom including a walk in shower. Food was varied, plentiful and tasty (we were all inclusive) and the restaurant staff were friendly, efficient but not intrusive. The hotel provides a mini bus for transfers to the beach which is some ten minutes walk away. The beach had good sand and plenty of room (although it was near the end of the season). Back to the hotel, swimming pool was not enormous but enjoyable with a couple of separate areas. There were plenty of sunbeds, tables and chairs - and if you wanted a quiet corner there was always one available. There was a variety of entertainment led by the talented, enthusiastic and extremely personable activities coordinator. Reviews have indicated a mosquito problem but a liberal daily application of a suitable product seemed to do the trick. There were very few other UK nationals present during our stay but this enhanced our experience and all staff spoke a number of languages. We had a great holiday

The pool and grounds are superb and the staff without exception go out of their way to assist. The location of the hotel is nice and quiet and this is an adults only property which meant no running, crying, screaming kids around the pool. I love my kids and grandkids more than anything but adults need a break while on vacation. Our room was economy which meant clean, small but fine. The food was at times very good while at other times OK. Never bad and plenty for all. We loved Mallorca and the Garden Hotel contributed to our enjoyment.

Lovely gardens /pool area. We were on half board and found the food quality not that good. Due to the location (lakes) there is a mosquito problem. (June)
