Royal Empire Hotel

Greatest staff, waited on us hand and foot, the breakfast was excellent, the staff in the breakfast room waited on us and brought plant to the table and got me my breakfast and my coffee. The pool was nice, but open for view by all going and coming in the hotel. The greeting was the best with fresh juice, and the hotel made all the arrangements with tour guide and taxi driver and all the necessary things for a very pleasant visit to the hotel and to the local attractions. The staff spoke and understood English which was a big bonus for us, and they took the best care of us and made sure we had a massage before we left for travel to PP....!!!! Great Place Great Staff..!!! We would do this hotel again.

Recently three friends and myself stayed at the royal empire hotel whilst volunteer teaching at two schools in Siem Reap. Throughout our stay we really enjoyed the beautiful pool, buffet breakfast, easy and quick wi fi and the spa and massage services. Most of all we were very happy with the service of the staff. All were very very friendly and would always enjoy a chat. They were very greatful and thankful for the service we were providing for the children of Siem Reap. We had an excellent breakfast waiter, a fantastic tuk tuk driver who would be ready for us at any time of the day and would pick us up from pub street at whatever time we wanted. The guest relation gentleman Sokol at the front reception was fantastic, always greeting us by name and wanting to hear about our day. He would also teach us Cambodian words. Very pleased with this hotel and would recommend to anyone wanting somewhere affordable and comfortable.

the hotel is conveniently located halfway between the airport and the town proper. we were met at the airport and transported to the hotel in 2 cars because there were 5 of us. despite of our late arrival at 10 pm, we were warmly greeted at the lobby by Tra who asked us to sit down and relax while they brought us our welcome drink. He helped us check in and helped arrange our tours.( it was worth paying for a van with an english speaking guide rather than taking a tuktuk). he then escorted us to our rooms that were overlooking the swimming pool.we booked 2 rooms and the rooms were spacious even with an extra bed.i had no problem with the very firm mattress.i liked the bathroom with its separate shower and bath. breakfast was good but it can get crowded and noisy at times if you chance upon a big tour group coming down to eat at the same time. the hotel was also considerate enough to give us a place to shower and change after we've checked out earlier in the day. our flight was at 10pm so they also kept our luggage for us until it was time to go to the airport.

It's a cheap hotel I got to say, and maybe good value if you just need a place to sleep over and nothing else. Facility does not exist in this hotel. The night I arrived the hotel lobby was terribly hot, apparently they turned off the air con. The room was smelly when I first entered but got better after I turned on the air con for a while (i think it's the smell of the toilet as they do not have a fan in there) hot water was never working properly during my stay, either boiling hot or just way too cold. And for 3 days out of my 4 days stay the wifi was not working and I had to go to the hotel next door to use Internet. Also if you intend to stay there, make sure you book tours and your taxi elsewhere because the hotel price is literally double the market price and they would tell you their price is the market price which is not true. The day I was leaving they insisted on me to pay for something from the fridge which I never consumed. The staff were friendly but not necessarily helpful. I would not stay in this hotel again and would recommend you find a hotel elsewhere if you do need any service/facility

A hotel needing a lot of maintenance. We moved from our first room because it had major cracks in the bottom of the bath/shower and leaked everywhere. I was asked if I had broken it! It was then I looked on reviews on-line where other people had made the same comments weeks ago. This told me the hotel were very well aware of the problem but continued to rent the room out! Got the next room but the door card lock failed. The problem was fixed quickly. Although the hotel has seen better days the manager and staff were very apologetic and provided a basket of fruit. Pool was a salt water one again needing some attention but was clean. Difficult to get poolside drinks. Snacks were not available.

We arrived at the hotel late afternoon after a long crossing and hot day at the border they came over with a cold drink and a wet face cloth this was nice start . the room was so nice location was grate and I loved the pool the staff are grate the one thing I could say is the English with some of them needs a little work . would defiantly stay again .

We stayed at the royal empire over Xmas, new year and everything was brilliant. Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. Could not find fault at all. Room service was great. Everything was clean and tidy. Will be definitely be returning to this hotel again. A big Thankyou to all the staff at the royal empire. I would highly recommended this hotel to anyone, price is good and located a short tuk tuk ride into town.

hotel was great. a little pricey, but great to have a comfortable place to stay after close to 10 hours of trekking around the ruins.
