The hotel was beautiful, set back in the trees on the slopes so very quiet and outside of town. The beds/rooms were very comfortable, quiet and spacious. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The only complaint I had was that the main pool/pool restaurant were closed for renovation. This wasn’t noted during booking or on their website. They did offer use of the smaller spa pool with poolside service from another restaurant but it was quite a bit smaller. Overall it was a beautiful stay.

"Beautiful Ritz Tahoe, service / amenities can be improved to match high price tag."

6.0

Ritz Carlton Tahoe Speedy check in by Hazel with warm smile and she quickly explained the facilities / activities in and around the hotel. We got two queen beds room as booked (no upgrade and I didn’t ask, either). The hotel didn’t seem busy so we got peaceful downtime there. Room: is in modest size in US standard I’d say. Manageable but wouldn’t call it spacious. Hotel is recently renovated so it’s in good state and clean. Bed / towels / linens are top notch. However, when I request for kids amenities, seems not much available (no kids bath robe, kids tooth brush etc). Hairdryer a bit weak. I was pretty upset at day 1 turndown service. Not great communication. I made the request 30min before housekeeping team left for the day and was told turndown service will come. Waited for 1hr and phoned them to realize house keeping team gone already. I then requested toweled to be delivered to the room without waking me up (I said can just come in to deliver the towel after knocking because we’d all be sleeping) but still I had to wake up to open the door. So much time wasted waiting on that day when the hotel didn’t seem busy at all. Shower / sink water pressure seems low. Didn’t use the tub coz not sure how long it will take to fill up. Lounge: We had high expectation on the famous ritz club lounge given its fame / exclusivity / high price. However, we didn’t find it worth the penny. The 5 meal / day offering was good quality but selection pretty limited. Good things is rarely did we see other people there. A lot of time we were there alone. Gym/pool: gym is large with everything you need. Pool/jacuzzi is very good and both heated. Activities: Most hotel activities are paid activities except morning yoga sessions 07:30-09:30. The S’more activities is popular and guests of all ages enjoyed it. There are some simple / free outdoor activities that family can play. Overall, it’s a very nice high end hotel in a great location, together with great weather year round. I do think price is a bit too high despite in Tahoe region. The highlight is the outdoor area instead of the room in my view. Thanks for late check out at 12pm to avoid morning rush. Till next time. Thanks Ritz Tahoe team.

"Fantastic experience as you would expect from a Ritz!"

10.0

Fantastic hotel! This was a first class experience - just what you would expect from a Ritz. The bell desk was exceptional - Randy treated us well and charged our car to 100%. Jaime was terrific at the on-site restaurant. Beauty at the front desk welcomed us and was very courteous. Of course the rooms were first class. Spectacular views all around - would come back again!

"Good"

We reserved a "corner view" room with incredible views of the mountainside. Our view was of massive pool construction work accompanied by a LOT of noise. Concrete cutters, jack hammers, etc. The room was uninhabitable, and management should have known that and not put any guest in that room during the construction. They gave us a $300 credit on our $4000 charge. Seriously? Also was greeted with an empty mini-bar. What? There is nothing to do there in the summer. It's a winter resort. Don't go in the summer.

Upon check in we were given a complimentary suite upgrade at no additional charge. I was shocked but so pleasantly surprised because the rooms are $900 per night. We definitely got our moneys worth. Suite was fantastic!

"Poor quality price ratio"

6.0

Not worth the price. The landscape is beautiful, pool is great, but the hotel and service are basic. Not a 5-Star experience. A bit far from the Lake in Summer. Prices are far too expensive.

"Awful."

2.0

Have to say for a “5 star hotel” the location is the only thing that saves this place. One of the worst “luxury” experiences ever spending the day here and lighting 500 bucks on fire for the top golf attendant to show up 15 minutes late and offer zero help or instruction. Had zero service by the pool. Walked up to get a frozen cocktail that would have given water a run for its money. Then the food. I have to imagine folks in the local prison are eating better than at this place. 30 dollar nachos for a pile of chips and cold liquid cheese dropped on top. Asked to have parking comped because it was such a poor experience with 3 hours on property which they declined. The ritz Carlton name will forever be tarnished with this result and will most certainly be relaying the message. A good opportunity for training. Someone dissatisfied that spends tens of thousands a year on travel and not comping parking. Won’t be back to any of these properties.

"Nice - Average "

6.0

Nice-Average resort. Overpriced for the quality and services received. Inconsistent service, average food, but the setting is nice. No real perceived value of luxury or quality. Resort's unique location and setting is really what they have going for them. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
