The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe

We stayed here for a conference. Beautiful place. Remote and in the Sierra hills. Rooms are nice. Great views. Nice fitness area. Staff was amazing at all levels. Manzanita restaurant was unique and high quality. Great grounds.

Loved location

My 2 friends and I had facials with Britanie at the beautiful spa. She is amazing, great attention to detail, super chill and so kind ! She gave us a swag bag filled with awesome goodies. Ask for Britanie is you’re getting a facial at the Lake Tahoe Ritz- she’s the best.

Our stay in Ritz Carlton/ lake Tahoe could have taken a turn downward but an issue I had with booking thru Chase Travel Services was addressed expeditiously and with individualized attention & concern by the Ritz Carlton staff . I would advise that as a traveler it is extremely important to confirm what online travel services (in this case Chase Sapphire Reserve card) advertise on their website vs. what the hotel actually provides. Always call the hotel in advance to confirm services/costs. My husband & my issue was handled swiftly by Jenny the outstanding customer service manager . Jenny was truly concerned that not only was our issue handled swiftly & to our advantage but throughout our stay, Jenny made it a point to check on us. And it just wasn't Jenny. Front desk people like Beauty, Priyash & a few others called our room, asking if there was anything else that could be done for us. Ken Brewster another manager was extremely kind & helpful too. It is my intent that when a hotel and its management shines in customer service, my husband & I let them know our appreciation. Thank you

Deceptive status of the amenities. Not all were operational. Non-responsive staff. Housekeeping didn’t show up until late in the day. Difficulty getting vehicle from mandatory valet. Overpriced menu options. Location was beautiful, but a disappointing experience for what is supposed to be an elite level property.

We travel frequently and are bonvoy titanium elite members. The rooms were great (very clean and tastefully decorated). The beds were also super comfortable. Our stay here was delightful and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. A couple of customer service standouts were Juan in housekeeping, Beauty at the front desk, Randy in valet, and Jamie at the lounge restaurant. Thanks much to everyone - we appreciate everyone’s efforts that made our stay enjoyable!

Not the greatest amenities for Summer. A little remote too if you want to be at the Lake. You’re looking at a 15-20 minute ride each way.

I enjoy frequent visits here and is always a pleasure to stay

I had a terrible experience during my recent stay in Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. The resort itself is stunning: an upscale ski retreat nestled in the pine forests of the Sierras. The setting is truly breathtaking, and most (more on that in a moment) of the staff we interacted with were genuinely cordial and helpful. But the dining experience? It was comically bad. I’ve never had a worse experience at any hotel or resort I’ve stayed at in my life—and I definitely didn’t expect it at a Ritz. Here’s a quick summary of what happened: 1. Dinner on the first night: About a third of what we ordered never arrived. We weren’t given forks or knives with our food, and when we asked, one visibly exasperated server literally tossed a bunch of utensils onto our table (I wish I were making this up). No one refilled our water glasses, and not a single staff member checked in on us. 2. The next morning’s breakfast: Hoping the previous night was a fluke, we tried a different restaurant on the property. It was worse. Again, several items we ordered were never delivered—some of the kids in our group were crying from hunger. We didn’t get butter or jam with our toast. I had to ask multiple times before someone finally brought salt and pepper. I asked for sugar with my coffee and never got it. Water refills? Of course not. Honestly, I’ve had better service at random roadside diners. These horrible experiences almost ruined our trip. Please keep in mind that F&B charges in this resort is at per some of the finest resorts I've stayed in Hawaii, which makes such subpar service even more inexcusable. I'll never stay here in the future and strongly recommend everyone else to not consider this property.

Overall, the properties wonderful the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and most of all pet friendly. We love a resort that allows pets to come in any room you book. It is a win-win for the price point
