Chicago South Loop Hotel

The toilet barely flushed, the ceiling leaked, we got the wrong size bed (queen instead of king), told to use a broken elevator, a/c barely worked, crumbs everywhere, one lamp light didn’t work properly, the standing lamp wasn’t put together properly or plugged in because the switch didn’t work, the tub had other people’s hair in it, no hand or body soap. But, there were three half-filled containers of 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner - even though there are wall dispensers. The body soap container was empty and bright two of the shampoo containers were just on the tub (all different kinds) even though they were clearly supposed to be used as refill bottles), outside of tub was dirty. Not to mention I got charged a $100 security deposit after the hotel was already paid for and then when I check my account in the morning I had an additional $215 charge on my card. When I asked the woman at the desk she said it was a “glitch” in the system and she has no idea why and that it had already been refunded - but I was never told it happened. They just assumed I wouldn’t notice before it was charged back? I had confirmation of the reversal printed and the woman working was helpful and showed me that my payment information was deleted from the system so it couldn’t happen again (but I will be watching my account just in case since there was never an explanation).

Good location

Stains on bed and no towels. Elevators and ATM never worked.

We had to wait in the lobby for an hour before our room was cleaned, despite being confirmed for early check in. It made us late to the event we traveled to Chicago to attend.

Limited parking and that the bathtub was dirty and there was no soap for the sink also the elevators need some work

The bed was very comfortable.

The pillows were lumpy. There were stains on the carpet and black streaks on the walls. There was no soap in the bathroom and when I called reception to ask for some, I was told I could come down and get some. There was no beverages available and no stores nearby to purchase any. One of the elevators kept going out of service, necessitating having to walk to the other end of the hotel to get to the one that was working.
