"A budget hotel in a good location"

6.0

Five/seven mnts. walk from Metro station, nice central location but difficult to locate because there are no proper signboard at the gate. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the building having a very small elevator. Staff is friendly & English speaking. Breakfast is very basic, but Subway & macdonald's are a stone's throw away.

"Stay away!"

2.0

This is a horrible hotel. As soon as you enter the hotel, you see a dark corridor and an elevator that can barely fit 1 person and 1 suitcase. The whole corridor smelled of urine and smoke. When we checked in they had hot-water problem and they asked us to move to another hotel 10 mins away. So we had to lug our luggage to this new hotel. That hotel was even worse than this one, with no elevator and a horrible vomit/urine smell. You have to carry your luggage to the 5th floor. The room was no better. It smelled so bad and I had to keep the windows open for hours before I could stay in the room. The only good part about this hotel is the location. It is right on Nevsky Prospect. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NO STAY AT THIS HOTEL OR ANY OF THE OTHER ACME PROPERTIES. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I am actually upset with orbiz for listing such a horrible hotel on their website.

"just off Nevsky Prospekt the main street"

8.0

Staff were really great. Hotel is above a theatre which means getting up to the 5th floor but OK once you have found it. Great location to explore with lots of restaurants, bars and theatres nearby. It is a small place with limited space; for some reason our room had only gauze curtains so didnt kkep the light out.

"Centrally located"

6.0

The Elegy is a very basic hotel. The building lobby is shabby with peeling paint and a dark staircase. Tiny elevator to hotel on 5th fl. Rooms are clean but bathroom is tight with very small sink and a plastic shower enclosure with hard to regulate water temperature. The buffet breakfast was very limited. Not enough tables and chairs. We prefered to eat breakfast down the block at McCafe that has excellent pastries, croissants and a range of coffees resembling Starbucks. The Elegy is conveniently located, about 2 blocks from the main street, Nevsky Prospect. There are several good restaurants on the street of the hotel.

"Give this one a pass"

2.0

The cab driver wasn't sure to let me off and I wasn't sure I wanted to get out of the cab. The hotel is barely noticeable with a cheap wooden door on the outside. Its on the top floor of a run down building and not a place I would ever recommend or stay again. The tiles in the shower were so grimy I didn't have a shower, the floor of my room had dirt on it and all I wanted to do was leave it first thing in the morning. I had to wash up my dishes from breakfast, which was the icing on the cake.

"First trip to Russia"

8.0

This hotel has a good location, near the nevsky. on your way out, you will pass by Subway and McDonalds, and it is near to a grocery where you can buy your water, fruit, etc. It is also a 15 minute walk to the place where the tours start. It provides good services that we booked (hotel transfer and tours), and the staff were very helpful and nice! Strong wifi in the lobby, so I could skype with my family. Nice, simple breakfast. boiled sausages, eggs, oatmeal, chocolates, yogurt, bread. Rooms were good, bed was comforatble and toilets were clean and working. Only complaints were the dark passageway leading to the elevator, I hope the lights get fixed soonest. And since the white nights came early, my room faced the sun and we had very thin curtains, so it was a challenge to sleep. Overall, this hotel is worth the price paid and more.

"central and close to convenient underground statio"

8.0

Everything was fine with the hotel , quality of service, neighboorhood, breakfast. Just two qualifications : the hotel is on the fifth floor while stair is in a poor state - more information should be given about taxi to the airport. On the whole very enjoyable

":)"

10.0

The hotel is really good, u have everything that u need here and it's really nice that in the bathroom the floor is warm, so no problems when u go out from shower. the room is big and nice :) the location is very good, close to the main street (less than 5 minutes) and close to the center (15 minutes, 10 to hermitage), and the walk is really nice (buildings, bridges..) I totally recommend it. oh, and of course it has wi-fi :)
