Hale-Hoola B & B

El desayuno excelente y con variedad y frescura cada dia. Había una tranquilidad increíble en todo el lugar y los host eran como estar en familia.

No rentamos auto y conseguir uber fue imposible. Por suerte el host del B&B nos llevo a un area mas facil para conseguir transporte a la ciudad.

This is a homestay-type B&B located in a rural area south of Kona. While the building is unimpressive at first approach, the actual guest rooms are nicely furnished and very comfortable. Ours had a beautiful lanai facing toward the sea (which is a couple miles away) and we loved relaxing on it. The host couple are very nice and accommodating, and the breakfast was truly excellent. They have two friendly dogs and the facility overlooks a yard full of birds, cows and even a couple of pigs.

If you are a light sleeper, the sound of the "coqui" frogs loudly chirping through most of the night could be a disturbance for you.

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Karl erklärt einem sehr viel über die Gegend und ist super gastfreundlich. Die Zimmer sind zwar nicht übermäßig groß, aber man hat eine überdachte riesige Terrasse direkt am Zimmer mit Blick auf die Natur und das Meer. Einfach perfekt! Frühstück ist mega und jeden Tag frisch. Es gibt in der Unterkunft auch kostenfrei Schnorchelausrüstung zum leihen. Essen kann man sich auch selbst zubereiten. Im Gemeinschaftsbereich gibt es Besteck, Geschirr, Wasseroberfläche und Mikrowelle. Ich kann die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen. Perfekt um das wahre Hawaii abseits der Hotelketten kennenzulernen.

Das Zimmer und vor allem der Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer (bisschen weiter weg) waren super. Das Frühstück, welches wir jeden Tag genossen haben war ausgezeichnet. Das haus liegt sehr ruhig gelegen mit Ausnahme der Frösche in den Abendstunden. Würde jederzeit wieder hierher kommen.

Felt like a lush little pocket of rainforest around the house. Serenaded by frogs. Wonderful room balcony and nice room. Carl is very interesting and helpful. Enjoyed our conversations with him. And his wife makes incredible yummy and hardy breakfasts. Close to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, which is fascinating and beautiful. Next to historic park is Two Step snorkeling site, one of the best places I've snorkeled in Hawaii. Lots of other interesting sites nearby. Get off the highway and it's rural Hawaii with small farms and ranches.

Carl and Elma were amazing hosts! The room was attached to a very comfortable common room for a much expanded space. Each morning breakfast on the deck was an adventure in itself. Carl fed the birds, creating quite a show. There were cattle and hogs within view. Carl made watching even those creatures fun. Carl had wonderful advice on local beaches along with directions on how to get there. Even if you are not a big breakfast eater this is a meal you won't want to miss. Delicious! Carl shared interesting information about the island, about fishing, about the culture. I have never been a big fan of B&B's but this was unlike any other. I would return in a heartbeat!

It is very dark at night. Hard to anticipate the turn in. They have put out colored lights to help with that, and it certainly did. I am not a fan of night time driving anyway so my plan for the future is to eat an earlier dinner and make sure to be back just before dark.

Good breakfast, lanai with a view, fridge on the lanai, friendly and welcoming hosts. Snorkeling equipment available.

The bathroom does not have a proper door from the bedroom for privacy. No cooking options.

The breakfast was great. Really good fresh food. The deck that you eat on has a spectacular view and there are bird feeders right off the railing ensure you have some entertainment. Backing onto the nature reserve you do see some wildlife.

Nothing.

Breakfast was superb. Carl and Elma more than helpful. Location lovely. Quiet.

Bathroom needs a real door. You must have a car.
