Artful Lodger

The Artful Lodger is a great place to stay in Newport! Our room was clean, comfortable and very roomy. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is exceptional and the dining room sits atop the Artful Lodger with an expansive view of the town. Our host was also very friendly and kind in describing all there is to do in Newport and answering our questions. Finally the price was lower than at other hotels/inns in town, making it a great value! We will stay here again when my wife and I return to Newport. We came to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and our very pleasant stay at the Artful Lodger was a key part of our fantastic experience in Newport.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin

Ein absolut in die Jahre gekommenes Haus , steile Treppe zu den Zimmern oder in den Frühstücksraum, im Zimmer vielfach Haare auf dem Boden. Zum Frühstücksraum musste man durch die Küche gehen, die eher ranzig wirkte. Beim Öffnen des Kühlschrankes alte Butterreste in den Regalen, der Kühlschrank muss schon Monate nicht mehr sauber gemacht worden sein.

Heidi, our host was simply lovely. Breakfast was delicious, and the view from the conservatory was amazing in the morning and at sunset. We stayed in Anne's Room, and would definitely request it again as the balcony and enclosed porch were fantastic. We very much enjoyed our stay, and would both stay again and highly recommend to others.

Great value. Central location for Newport. If you like to walk, most things are entirely walkable. If not, reliable parking when you return. Room was cozy and comfortable. Bathroom was clean with fresh towels each day. It's a B&B, so the Bathroom is basic but it is a private bath. Nice observatory for a tasty homecooked breakfast - NICE. Even has a little wine up there for pre-dinner relaxation. Would stay again.

No closet space in the room we stayed but did have plenty of wall/door hanging hooks.

Location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cable TV system was very poor and had no local or sports channels, primarily just some old TV series. Need to go back to the cable system they used to have (Cox) or at least carry local channels.
