House 5863- Chicago's Premier Bed and Breakfast

I had great experience. It is a nice cozy house that is clean, comfortable, quiet and close to metro station and located nice neighborhood. I loved the way condo is decorated in cool contemporary vibe, i had the homely feel using the living room and balcony.

So fun and hip, so clean and comfortable. House 5863 is a gem!

This place is a scam. Do not book or risk losing your money! Owner finds a way to ban you from the property before your stay so he can pocket your money and rent to someone else. He threatened me with physical assault!

The room was clean, plenty of space. Bed comfortable. Bathroom clean. Nothing outdated or in disrepair. Hosts were great.

We had a great stay! Location is excellent, very quiet and in a great neighborhood. Room was super, service was great, lots of things to choose from for breakfast. We hit it just right and parked across the street.

We LOVED our stay at House 5863 It was clean, the bed was comfortable & smelling fresh coffee brewing when I woke up was Amazing! We hope to go back.

Great place to stay in Chicago. We will definitely be back.

This place was great, very cute decor. I stayed in room 3, bathroom was awesome with huge shower, bed was comfy. Continental breakfast was great, pastries were super tasty. Would definitely stay again!

If you don't read my whole review, know this: The owner of this hotel, Erickson Ocasio, is scamming people out of their money. If this has happened to you, I encourage you to file a chargeback with your credit card company and/or a report of consumer fraud to the attorney general of Illinois. I booked a room at House 5863 through Expedia. The first red flag is that my receipt was for $155, but my card was charged $381. Erick sent over an email requesting an strange amount of personal information, and the email also said that the money over the original amount was a refundable deposit. In order to sign and submit the form, I would have had to agree to forced arbitration. I avoid signing arbitration clauses as a rule as it means signing away the right to seek certain legal remedies for fraud. Within 48 hours of booking, Erick had emailed me twice, texted me, and called me to fill out this form. It began to feel like harassment - my stay was not for another two months. I canceled, not expecting my original booking amount to be refunded per the terms. However, I still had almost $250 in "deposit" that I desperately needed back. I reached out via text, and then email, to ask Erick when I could expect the deposit back. He BLOCKED MY NUMBER. He refused to answer my calls or Expedia's. Would say so much more if I had more room.
