Rustic old school hotel. Loved the staff and of course the dozens of peacocks

This is a difficult one. The staff were wonderful, very polite and helpful. The room we had was lovely, well laid out, bed was very comfortable and the veranda was secluded. The bathroom was also very nice. The dinner was superb, promptly served and definitely enjoyed. The issues were: The breakfast was lovely, but took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, so much so that we ate breakfast elsewhere from day five. The exterior of the buildings, garden walls etc. were desperately in need of a lick of paint. The place looked shabby externally. We had the feeling that the place would have been stunning in its hayday, but now they are resting on their laurels. There are a lot of peacocks and plenty of pictures of them on here, so don't stay if you sleep light and don't like early mornings. On the other hand, they are stunning birds.

Property requiring major upgrade. Lots of broken furniture etc. menu and drinks choice poor. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing and were disinterested.
