We travelled in the rainy season so a lot of businesses were closed or left town Also this is the time a lot of them try to do maintenance projects

Property is dated! No clean towels have to wash yourself. Used machines and had to re wash clothes as awful smell in clothes. Wouldn’t stay again

Bay Villas was perfect, walking distance to the main street and a pool right below our room. Our room was clean and comfortable, with an aircon (needed in this climate) and a little kitchenet. The bathroom was clean and functional, and overall it was a great spot to stay.

One female member of staff was rude and uncooperative. There was building work going on that we had not been informed of prior to arrival. She just kept saying it was on the website.... we'll it definitely was not when we'd booked several months prior. It also transpired that it was only visible when you looked for availability. We'd already booked so were no longer looking at the website, we didn't need availability. Very poor customer care on her part. We were reimbursed for one night due to being woken up by drilling. Better communication on their part, and an apology would have gone a long way to mitigate the situation.... neither were offered. On the basis of our poor treatment by this one belligerent member of staff, with poor listening skills I would not recommend this place. Plenty of other options available in Port Douglas. Also this one is a bit of a hike into town, especially if it's hot. Puts you off going back out to town in the evening. Very frugal with the plates and cutlery. Literally only one set per person. No dish washer so you have to keep washing up.
