Convenient & a good quality building

Urgent repairs are needed. The complex/apartments are outdated, unsafe and dirty. There is no dining area or bar. The wood flooring on our balcony was rotten, clearly hazardous. My partner's foot went through the wood floor and he hurt his ankle. Called reception and no major concern was given regarding the hazard. Was offered to continue to stay in the same room but advised the maintenance man was not working that day. Was also offered to stay in a new room. Accepted the new room and was appalled by the lack of cleanliness. The room was filled with dust and dirt. The spa bath looked horrible. The whole complex needs urgent repairs and a thorough clean. Not impressed by the standards of this place. Most hotels provide 2 complimentary bottles of water and at the very least a box of tissues, not this place. It's the little touches that go along way especially if you're travelled by plane. The Sebel Whitsundays isn't worth staying at. The only positive was the view but not worth it if you fall through the balcony floor.

I'm writing this review to express my absolute disgust and dissatisfaction with my stay at The Sebel Whitsundays Airlie Beach. It was hands down the worst accommodation experience I've ever had, especially during my entire trip in Australia. The facilities were not just old; they were decrepit and hazardous. The bedside lamp was in such a pathetic state that it was not only broken but had wires dangerously exposed, posing a serious safety risk. The partition windows between the living room and the bathroom were disgustingly rusty, making the place look like it hadn't been maintained in decades. And the stench in the bathroom! It was like a cesspool, reeking of raw sewage, making it almost unbearable to use. The so - called "service" was abysmal, to say the least. After 6 pm, it was as if the entire hotel staff had vanished into thin air. On the first day of my arrival, I was greeted with a non - functioning elevator and a locked door on the staircase leading to my room. Attempts to contact the front desk were fruitless, as my calls always ended up in a voicemail abyss, with no one bothering to call back. And to add insult to injury, this was the only hotel among all the places I stayed in Australia where I was treated like a servant, having to take care of my own trash. But the final straw was the blatant rip - off during checkout. I clearly called the front desk before checking out on the last day and was assured that as long as I checked out before 11:00, there would be no additional charges. I adhered to this agreement and even double - checked with the front desk at the time of checkout. Yet, my credit card was unjustly charged an extra 50 AUD. When I tried to resolve this issue through email, it was met with complete radio silence. This hotel is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. I would never, under any circumstances, recommend this dump to anyone. It's a place that should be avoided at all costs. Perhaps there will be some meaningless apologies and comments from the hotel, but that's not why I'm writing this review. My intention is to warn any potential customers who come across this review to stay far away from this hotel. Choose a place that actually deserves the money you pay.

I loved this hotel. Beds are very comfy, the view was amazing and location was superb. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful, Lauti helped us a lot with tours information. Definitely would choose it again! The only thing missing could be a restaurant or breakfast available in the hotel.

We always enjoy our stay at The Sebel Airlie Beach, the beds are amazing and the staff are always very helpful. The pool area is a great size as well. Have used the gym previously and it is well equipped, our 6th floor room gave us a great view to look out over the marina and water.

We stayed for 5 nights for a family break. The apartment is a bit old but it has beautiful views from the balcony over the harbour. It’s close to everything in the town and to the boats if you’re doing a trip somewhere. I just struggled with the pillows and slept badly every night and found it quite uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend for a quick break.

The room was not as described. There was a damp smell. The room was full of dust. There was no lighting outside and my wife almost fell in the dark. The room m was extremely dated and there were many impractical spaces. For $1,000 a night it was extremely disappointing. There were no staff on site to address my concerns. I don’t usually write reviews, however, in this instance I feel the need to warn others. Misleading marketing. Very upset!

While it was comfortable and clean, it lacked soul. There was only ever a receptionist, who was helpful. The other staff were tradies or cleaners. There was no vending machine, bar or cafe on site. Look, it wasn't bad, just soulless.
