Hotel Le Bergerac

We had a lovely stay at this great location near the Escalante neighborhood that bustles with young people in and out of the brewpubs and restaurants. There is a Fresh Market nearby as well. The attached bar/restaurant was a great place to grab an Imperial beer and watch a soccer match. Also an easy walk to downtown attractions. The staff was so helpful and friendly even helping my husband find his lost sunglasses. An excellent value for the price.

Fun to stay in historic French influenced house. The food was excellent at the restaurant and the staff are very accommodating. We had to leave before breakfast for an early Shuttle and they served us early before opening.

Cockroaches in the room, noisy cealing during the nigth, weird restaurant service (no idea of the menú), very bad wi fi connection

Convenient location and professional staff. Walking distance to shopping mall and local restaurants.

This is a hostel. Beds are broken, washrooms are gross.

Decent hotel, about a fifteen minute walk from downtown San Jose. There are bars, restaurants, and convenince stores a block or two away; and a Starbucks next door. The rooms are spacious and adequately clean. Some street noise from trucks and buses on the main road a block away. Hotel staff seems accommodating. Breakfast is mediocre. WiFi Internet access is fast.

Well located, but old and run down. The internet is not reliable, the fridge in my room did not work, and although the staff tried to assist (some being very good, others being uninterested), their was not much improvement. Breakfast was also very slow. I would not recommend this hotel.

Cleaning is standard but the people are so kind, polite and helpful. They make you feel as you are with family. They always want to feel you happy.

This hotel is in a dangerous area and i would never recommend this hotel to anyone especially a woman.

We chose this hotel the day we landed in CR because it was more convenient to heading out to the Caribbean the following day & it would accommodate our family of 6 in one room. It’s an older but pretty hotel with beautiful grounds. We appreciated the in room coffee maker & enjoyed our coffee on the small balcony. Breakfast offerings are simple & ok, but free with stay so can’t complain there. Nice location in an area with shopping & restaurants you can easily walk to. We felt safe walking around in both day & night.
