We ate at their restaurant and it was amazing! Great food and great staff ! Alicia was our waitress and she’s the best! Very helpful and super sweet ! We would highly recommend going there !!!

Alicia was absolutely amazing! We kicked off our first birthday celebration and she made it so special — she really took the time to connect with our group. The food was fantastic, the drinks were just as impressive, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be coming back each day we’re here. Thank you!

Location was the best thing about the property, conveniently located next to the beach.

The Rip Jack Inn was one of our final stops after a three-week journey through Costa Rica. We were looking forward to winding down in Playa Grande, close to the surf, and chose this hotel based on its convenient location and solid reviews. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to expectations. We stayed in a deluxe room, while our friends booked a suite. Both rooms were underwhelming. The beds in our room were noticeably sunken in, and the pillows were uncomfortably hard — not what you'd hope for after a long day of travel or beach activities. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher level of comfort. What really stood out in a negative way was the check-in process. We were asked if we wanted to pay an additional fee to cover maintenance and landscaping costs — something we found completely unacceptable, especially considering the already premium rate for the room. These types of expenses should be built into the nightly rate, not passed on as an optional surcharge to guests.

The property had such a cool vibe! They have a great restaurant. /bar, and everything that I had from there was amazing! The owners, Dave, Annie, and Lulu, and the staff were so kind and hospitable that I extended my stay for an additional day! Their beach is vast, and was barely populated at all, and the view of the sunsets from there was incredible! The location is great, off the beaten path, but not far from Tamarindo, where all of the tourist things to do are. I absolutely look forward to staying there again!

The only downside for me was that the bed was too firm, but that is a matter of personal preference.

The coffee maker was for individual cups and difficult to understand how to use. However, they helped us with that.

We had a great stay at Rip Jack Inn and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We stayed in a bungalow with our family of 5 and it was very comfortable and had a private tropical feel. The food at the resort was delicious but expensive. My kids had a great time surfing in the area.

Such a great place. Beach and surf shops across the street. Amazing staff at the front desk, restaurant and everywhere in between. Not only was the food great and convienent, but Alicia and the other restaurant staff were wonderful and even helped the kids practice their spanish : )

Enjoyed the restaurant, pool, easy access to the beach. Room was comfy and had great AC, clean and had all the basics. Laundry service rocked it and will be back at our next opportunity.
