The best surf hotel! 15+ years of great times, won’t go anywhere else! The staff and ownership continue to make it the best possibly stay. The waves are always good!

The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a very simple but yet beautiful and earthy atmosphere. The grounds were cleaned by the staff every day! Nature is all around the rooms, so leaves would naturally fall, and every day they would clean and maintain the grounds. Very hard working and friendly staff. We saw monkeys, iguanas, squirrels, crabs, butterflies, birds by just walking to the pool! It was wonderful. The two pools were closed by to all rooms and they were really nice , surrounded by lounge chairs and trees providing shade on those really hot days. The hotel is walking distance to the beach. perfect for a surf trip. The hotel is quiet , perfect for relaxing, but restaurants and a cafe is closed by. The RipJack restaurant offered good food and the waiters were so nice! Thanks Alicia for taking care of us! There is a lot of construction around, so there was noise pretty much all day… but it didn’t really bother us. There are no umbrellas allowed (I was told) at the beach, because it is a Nature Reserve, so be aware that it gets really hot in the middle of the day. It was unbearable, but the pool felt specially nice. Also, the hotel rents the beach chairs per day… really thought it would have been included. Maybe in the future. Overall it was a fantastic stayed, and will recommend and come back.

Stones throw away from the best beach for bodysurfing. Great food at the restaurant as well.

Updated but tiny rooms; two pool areas; restaurant on site. Can walk to nearby places to eat. No seating on beach so bring your own!

Bathroom was too small; our room was downstairs so very dark; note there is AC but no tv; roads in this area can get muddy and pot holed; you need bug spray when outdoors!

My friends and I stayed at RipJack for three days and I would absolutely recommend it. We’ve been in CR for ten days and these are by far the most comfortable beds/rooms. Very friendly hotel desk and staff throughout the property. Security all night so our car and surfboards were always locked up at night. The restaurant and bar are really nice with great food. We ate meals there a lot and everything from breakfast to dinner is tasty. All the restaurant staff is friendly and kind. Alicia is really fun and we got to know her. Proximity to the spots we came to surf makes it an ideal location for the Playa Grande surf breaks. Oh and much quieter and more chill than Tamarindo. So if you want to party definitely go there.
