The Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort

The hotel rooms are big and spacious, clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast and meals served at the hotel were delicious and mouthwatering. A lot of activities to do at the hotel and is perfect getaway from the hustles and bustles of the city for sports and nature lovers. The hot water bottle to manage the cold was a brilliant idea keep it up.

The location, the compound, the food, amenities, the staff was good. The new year’s event was exceptional and well organised

Big spiders in the room, bugs, pathways are too dark, mosquitos,no security on the pathways, I didn’t like the room as it was a little bit different from what I expected (small, no view etc.)

The location and ambience was super but customer service was sadly not up to per.

When we arrived we were told there was no booking made and that only ‘executive rooms’ were available without being told how much this would cost ; unless we had an email confirmation form grvl there was no accommodation for us. Fortunately I had the email and we were given a room that had no wifi or and therefore no working telephone and neither were the security lights outside working. We reported and were told a report had been made to the necessary technicians but nothing was done.After flushing the toilet the cistern would take forever to refill. This sound was not music to the ears as one tried to sleep. The next day We requested for early lunch since check out was 11am and we couldn’t just hang around in the grounds until 1.30pm waiting for it ( since we had paid full board ) and were promised that by 11.30am the lunch would be ready at the reception waiting for us to pick . We ended up waiting until almost 1pm when sealed boxes were handed to us . At the end of our travels tonight we discovered that we were each handed a packet of crisps, small bottle of water, juice, a quarter cheese sandwich , some form of dried cake and 2 pieces of very dry chicken. Not the lunch we envisioned. I Have been a fan of grvl for long having being part of a team that organized quite few conferences / workshops there some years back - sadly I don’t think i will be going back

The staff at reception Candy and Faith, our room cleaner Kigen and the restaurant staff led by Urbanus John, Hellen and Phoebe, were all so warm, friendly and courteous. The assistance from the Adventure club and excitement that came with doing Art, beadwork etc. They all ensured our comfort. They went over their duty to see to it we were happy.

The spa is completely under developed. While the staff exists, she is working under a really poorly lit room with no equipment. No resources have been inte ntionally assigned to her. The spa needs to be seriously reconsidered with much more staff, more equipment and way better location.

The bed was soooo comfortable . The view was amazing . And the security was top. The staff were very helpful.

service and staff were generally pleasant.

The mattresses were worn out.
