"Well maintained resort in a scenic location"

8.0

Puri Wirata is a beautiful resort perched on the edge of the Amed coast. Although quite remote (Amed is fairly isolated) the resort provides everything needed from stunning pools to very good food and well maintained rooms. I felt safe and confortable (travelling on my own) and enjoyed meals in the restaurant overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool. The staff were excellent and happy to assist with anything required. I found the resort to be very good value for both accommodation and food costs and would certainly recommend it for anyone travelling to the Amed coast.

"Great little getaway"

8.0

We loved this hotel and area. we booked our room about 3-4 months before we got there for christmas holidays. We spend 4 nights in a ocean view room. The hotel is right on the beach with a reef for snorkeling at your door step. We couldn't have been happier with our room - 180 degree ocean views, a day bed and large balcony/terrace for hanging out and enjoying the view. There is no room service or pool bar, but there is everything you need for a great diving or snorkelling holiday. Scooter hire is available and feels quite safe on these slow and quiet roads. It is also cheap. This hotel is excellent value for Bali, and a great change from the busy Kuta area. its also more of a local feeling and the locals are very kind. Do yourself a favour and get out of Kuta area, it is worth it if you want to experience a more authentic taste of Bali and it's beauty. Stay in Kuta if you want aussies, drinking and clubs. Come here for peace, quiet and snorkeling.

"Good"

6.0

Nice hotel overall and good value for money. We had villa with nice balcony and sea view (although shared balcony with next villa).Very quiet location but that is to be expected in Amed area at low season. Locals lovely and friendly and nice to be away from hustle and bustle. Hotel had lovely outdoor area and close to good snorkelling spots. Food ok at hotel but nothing fantastic (again may be due to season - not many guest may have impacted), although some decent food in local warungs. Staff were nice enough and generally helpful.

"Short stay mostly here for the diving"

8.0

We stayed 2 nights and dove with the in house shop. The pools are great. Service at the restaurants was slow (typical Bali) The food was good. There is not a lot in walking distance but if you are ok with a scooter there are plenty of place to go. The scuba diving was great with in house operation!

"A great place to stay-great value!"

8.0

A beautiful beachfront setting with stunning ocean view - we loved staying here. The gardens and the infinity pool were lovely. There were 2 pools with heaps of recliners and pool service. The facility had a lot of steps which would be an issue for someone with mobility problems. We stayed in a villa and our friend stayed in a room. Both were big and clean with fantastic sea views, nice bathrooms, good a/c. The TV was poor with no English channels but DVDs were available from reception. The breakfast was modest but delicious and if you are a big eater, you could supplement the meals by buying extra items. The fruit juices were freshly made-beautiful!. The restaurant meals were nice in a beautiful setting. Don't expect 5 star meals because it is not a 5 star facility. 5 minutes walk to the supermarket but there were no other shops around so we didn't spend any extra money except for meals and snorkelling & boat trips. The beach is black pebbles. Lots of people did diving courses-we only snorkelled. Snorkelling with plenty of fish and coral just off the beach but it is hard to access at low tide. Local fisherman are on the beach to book snorkelling and boat trips with and supply snorkels etc. We found snorkelling at the Japanese Wreck best for fish--we got there with a driver who came back to pick us up- and a boat trip to the coral garden and temple was good but I wonder if the area is overfished. We found this a great place to relax-we would definitely go back

"Beautiful view & pools, excellent diving"

10.0

Spent a wonderful 3 nights at Puri Wirata. Infinity pools are beautiful and look right out over the ocean. Diving with Bali Reef Divers was great. Only downfall was the very stinky bathroom in our hotel room (#1...but other guests also seemed to experience the bathroom smell). And the garbage all over Bali!

"Staff and restaurant are really disappointing"

6.0

I will start with the fact that I had food poisoning at the restaurant from eating pasta carbonara!! So the restaurant is to avoid at all cost. The breakfast is a joke: you get pancake OR bread OR eggs, and the portions are ridiculous even for me who don't eat much. The hotel and rooms need to be renovated. Rooms are charmless but good view, altough I had a room close to the road which was not great in terms of noise. I had problems with the room cleaning staff who pounded and yelled at my door the first morning to clean my room at 8.45 am. So I asked the reception not to do that again for the rest of my stay. The next morning, it was even worse, they came twice to pound and shout at me through the door even though I was telling them to come back later. So I got mad obviously which was not a great way to start the day, again! The diving shop upstairs seems good but unfortunately they were fully booked. Also, the snorkeling is pretty boring in front of the hotel and the locals there are kinda annoying because they won't leave you alone until you are able to go in the water, but you can walk to Lipah beach (left when you leave the hotel)
