Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bridgeport by IHG

No staff at front desk when I returned after dinner and upon check out at 8am.

No staff at front desk monitoring the entry way. A nd booking .com didn't notify the hotel was going thru a renovation. Thaought I was getting a complimentary breakfast but the entire lobby was full of cartons and boxes. The coffee area had HARD packaged sweetener that took a lot of challenges to stir in.

It was clean quite and comfortable

Easy access and location, comfy beds, decorate for Christmas, remodeled hotel and rooms

Not many people staying at hotel, Free Breakfast ...chocolate milk expired, pancake machine didn't work, peanut butter out...mouse got into, last night of stay we were leaving very very early and moved someone beside us ar midnight when hotel was empty. Loud as can be.

The staff was super nice

The cost for staying at this location was less than other nearby locations.

Unfortunately the experience at this Holiday Inn Express did not meet my expectations. The most significant issue was that I booked our room through Booking.com, and there was some issue where they could not find our reservation. It took almost an hour for the desk clerk to work out the issue, so my wife and I just had to wait in the lobby late in the evening while it was worked out. From what I could assert, the issue was with the hotel not having the correct logins to their Booking.com account. Note to management, offer guests a beverage or something if it becomes apparent they won't be getting into their room within 10 minutes of arriving. The next issue was that the first room they put us in had a smoke detector with a low battery, which caused it to beep every minute. Additionally, the hotel is going through some renovation, so this room had a wonderful first floor view of all of the trash they had piled up just outside the room. We requested and were given a new room. Aspects of this renovation could be seen all over the site, where it looked like it was 90% complete. For example, carpet not being tacked down, and trim work quality issues. Finally, they did not have the cinnamon rolls that Holiday Inn Express is known for. When asked, the clerk at the desk shrugged and said they were sent the wrong items. Any one of these issues could have been brushed off, but altogether made for a very disappointing stay.
