"Lovely one-night stay at a ryokan"

The staff was helpful and friendly. The property was lovely and well-maintained overall, preserving its ryokan authenticity. Dinner was excellent and included a large variety of seasonal and regional food (we particularly appreciated the sawara). Portions were adequate, leaving us satisfied without feeling too heavy.

The wagyu beef was slightly overcooked for our taste -- still (upper) medium-rare, but we typically prefer a bit more medium-rare for this beef cut. Nonetheless, the meat was tender and flavourful. The check-out was set at 10 am, which unfortunately was rather early and we wished we could have stayed a bit longer to enjoy the property. (We also recognise that cleaning the rooms requires longer than typical hotels, so we understand the earlier check-out).
