Location

Dear Booking.com, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent stay at Knights Inn Hadley, which I booked through your platform. I am appalled that Booking.com would advertise and promote a property in such unacceptable condition. The stay was during Amherst College graduation weekend, and I was charged $220 per night—a completely unjustifiable rate for the quality received. The room was disgustingly dirty, and I had to purchase and use a bottle of bleach just to make it tolerable. It smelled bad, and the lock was broken, which raised serious safety concerns. I raised the cleanliness issue with the front desk, but the staff insisted the room had been cleaned daily. This was simply false. I have photographic evidence that clearly shows the room had not been cleaned properly, if at all. Additionally, I received a pre-arrival email from the hotel referencing COVID-19 as the reason for reduced services like breakfast and housekeeping. While I understand limited services during health concerns, this message felt more like an excuse than a legitimate policy—especially considering the room's condition. This experience was far below Booking.com’s usual standard, and I feel completely misled by the listing. I request that: Booking.com investigate this property and its continued presence on your platform. I be considered for a partial or full refund due to the misleading listing and the severe condition of the accommodation. You ensure better quality control over properties you promote. I am including photos of the room to support my complaint and would be happy to provide further information if needed. I hope Booking.com will take this complaint seriously.

"Did not feel safe for a female travelling on her own."

The staff were very nice and friendly.

Opened door to a dark and dreary decor. Armchair soiled and uninviting; and wooden furniture mismatched and tired looking. All the lamps had crooked shades. No USB ports. Did not feel ready for guests. Floor was not clean, as socks became very dirty very quickly, and iron was very dusty. Door felt unsafe, when the door was closed, the daylight came through 1cm gap on 3 sides of the door. Window had no blind, so when curtain was open, everyone can see into room, but when blind was closed, the room was dark and dreary. Cost was over priced for quality of room. Easy fix to improve quality.
