Hotel La Conchiglia

Great location, free bikes to use, very friendly staff & good value for money.

The big surprise for us was that it was right on the beach. We arrived late in the day from Napoli and being able to hang out on the beach for an hour was truly wonderful. The woman at desk to check us in and out (sorry, have forgotten her name) was very accommodating, and worked hard to make us comfortable and taken care of. Breakfast and staff were excellent.

The hotel inside and out needs a thorough updating. Very worn out. Bathroom huge and nice, but peeling paint - like partially renovated with updated sinks and shower, but worn down everywhere else. Were led to believe there was a shuttle to and from airport, plan on getting there yourselves. While we were farther from airport than we had hoped, being on the beach in the afternoon made up for that. A/C - controlled by front desk - was not working at all.

It was an incredible experience. The sea view room was absolutely perfect. It had all the amenities we could ask for, including air conditioning and daily room cleaning. From the airport, we decided to take a taxi to the hotel, which cost us 45 euros (20 minutes). Later, we discovered that there were buses available that could have taken us to Rome and various other stations, but we opted for the convenience of the hotel-provided taxi as well. There were numerous restaurants in the area, all of which specialized in seafood. The hotel had a fantastic restaurant where we enjoyed delicious fish and pasta dishes as well. One thing to note is that all the restaurants in the area had specific opening hours. They served breakfast from early morning until 10 am, followed by lunch from 12 pm to 2 pm, and then dinner from 7 pm to 10 pm. If you wanted to have a snack, you wouldn't be able to find it in the restaurants. However, there was a nice street cafe available, as well as a supermarket with a wide selection of products. The beach was pristine, with clear waters and soft sand, making it perfect for kids. I absolutely fell in love with this place. We also visited Ostia, but it didn't quite match up to the beauty and cleanliness of this charming little town (Fregene), which was filled with delightful shops and restaurants.

There is a daily fee of up to 17 euros for renting a chaise lounge and an umbrella. But this practice is common for European seaside destinations.

Really cozy and sympatico staff!

The lights were hard to figure out, but the staff were always available to help you! The beds are not the most comfortable ones, but its a really good emplacement! :)
