"Very pleasant"

The room was a bit pricey but was lovely - very nice and quite big. The shower was also a good size. Would happily return.

No lift! But only being up a couple of not big flights of stairs made it easier.

Beautiful hotel in amazing location Fabulous staff Very clean Welcoming to small dog

It was not clear (enough) on booking that on Saturdays, you can’t just book the room, but you are also paying for a 3-course dinner! Which cannot be refunded if you can’t eat in the restaurant…and then the room was in the attic (2 flights of narrow steep stairs) and the bed was essentially a pull out bed from the wall (with doors either side ). So not a spring bed but very very soft ….i had expected more for £370 for 1 night

The location, staff, lobbies

The rooms were outdated and especially the bathrooms with only bathtubs and no shower cubicles. Slippery bathtubs, lack of space between toilet and bath, shower adequate.

"Grand house set in nice grounds but a little tired and let down by restaurant."

Room was clean and quiet but quite dated. Bottled water supplied and tea & coffee facilities in room. Bed comfortable. Hotel is classic country mansion style in pleasant grounds.

No cereals or fruit for breakfast. Service in restaurant generally very slow although not especially busy. Only 4 coat hangers in room for 2 guests, but at least not the horrible anti-theft type. There is no lift so bedrooms only accessible via several flights of stairs - not ideal for those with mobility issues. Dinner menu choice very limited and wine expensive. I recommend dining at The Oak and Saw pub just a couple of minutes drive away.
