Excellent facilities. Welcoming staff

The hotel has potential to be a very nice hotel sadly it is run terribly and would not recommend anyone stays here.

I booked this hotel for the night before my wedding. I firstly booked through booking.com and then the hotel made contact and asked me to cancel and book direct through them which I did. I booked 4 rooms at this hotel one being the bridal suite. I specifically requested the bridal suite as I wanted my morning photographs in there. The hotel confirmed this and informed me they would decorate it for me. I called to confirm my booking 4 times as I had booked a year in advance and wanted everything perfect. My last call being a week before we checked in. I was given my room key and entered a ‘suite’ that was most definitely not the bridal suite. It was a larger bedroom with a sofa in it. One window, therefore a very dimley lit room. I had to ensure the makeup artisit brought extra lighting because it was too dark to do makeup in. The room itself was shabby, broken sink, dirty carpet and noisy! When I challenged the staff she smirked and said “we are fully booked sorry” despite me booking that room as soon as it became available a year prior. I requested an extra portion of pastry’s and coffees to the room in the morning and was told there would be a £5 fee. My parents arrived back that evening and found their key wasn’t working, no one was to be seen in the hotel for 2 hours! They could not access their room. This must be against all health and safety regulations because I dread do think if there had been a fire what could have happened. This hotel is a SCAM and if taken over by new management would have potential but until then I would absolutely avoid!

Needs money spending on it - outside looks tired Check in not thorough - not told about facilities, spa and restaurant. Bedroom was very tired with some broken furniture, but the bed was very comfy. Dated bathroom. Got the feeling there are not enough staff in the hotel. Dining room carpet needs cleaning. Evening meal in restaurant was lovely, but service very slow. Breakfast menu VERY limited - no cereals or fresh fruit. Weak watery coffee. Only 4 hot mains available. Once my choice was served I never saw the waitress again! Disappointing!
