The Black Pearl Beach Side Apartments

Ideally situated on the Sunset Coast for exploring beaches restaurants and activities away from the busier South coast. Excellent swimming pool and friendly staff. Proprietor very 'on to it' in terms of addressing any issues. Can be a little noisy if you bare in unit near the road although having said that a quieter room at the back does not take you away from the local roosters who have difficulty telling the time and den to start the morning chorus at all hours this can happen snywhere on Rarotonga the hotel provides foam earplugs free of charge if farm animal noises do interfere with your sleep.

A relaxing, low-key stay in a small motel complex with fresh, clean rooms just across from the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful gardens.

We stayed 9 nights at the Black Pearl. Transfer from the airport was arranged and successful although rather expensive. We used the bus service for the first 4 days then hired a rental car which gave us more scope for exploring. Our main focus this trip was to chill out and relax and the resort was ideal for that.

We booked into the Black Pearl at the last minute with very little research when we decided to extend our stay in Rarotonga and the resort where we were staying had already booked out our room. Having said that, we were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and beauty of the facility and happy with our choice to stay here. One downside was the road noise - the resort is across the street from the beach and traffic goes by at all hours of the day and night.

We only stayed for one night. Bedding were very clean, but everything else were not quite as clean! Lots of dust on the bed heads. Microwave was not working. One of the three towels has dirt on it. Not much of privacy as anyone could look straight into your room.

My second stay at The Black Pearl. Very pleased to say that the improvements to the 'Pearl' are coming along at a great "coconut time" pace. Lovely new decor in some units, with remaining units to follow. Decking around pool and on some patios (all will get same treatment) looks great. As always the lovely Jane and her fantastic staff couldn't do enough for you.

This hidden gem was the ideal getaway.The facility was immaculate.Thanks for being so accomodating.
