Stewarts Bay Lodge

The location is fabulous. Close to Stewart’s bay itself and the cape walks.

The lack of small kitchen items such as thongs, egg slide, wooden spoon, bbq utensils for the bbq was frustrating. So was the supply of only 2 dishwasher soaps for a 4 night stay although asking for more did result in 2 more. The cottages are not cheap and so it was disappointing not to have the expected usual kitchen items.

We were expecting 2 bathrooms in the 3 bedroom unit and there was only one. Reception staff advised us that there was a unit free with 2 bathrooms but was unwilling to change us to the nearby unit which was empty unless we paid for another full nights accommodation. The reception staff were unhelpful and not courteous.

Location was perfect. Close to all the sites and hiking we were interested in. View from our lodge was beautiful. On site restaurant was surprisingly sophisticated.

The lodge itself needed an update. Furniture was worn, night tables, stained. Bathroom, workable but dated. Still comfortable but tired looking.

Stayed 1 night as part of round Tasmania tour. Spacious and clean room with all convenience including washer/dryer, kitchen. Restaurant has decent food with slow paced service. Tucked inside a quiet street entrance, good for a relaxing time. WiFi only in reception and restaurant only.
