The place is amazing, we absolutely loved Stewart Bay. The cabin is the best, offering fantastic views and great comfort.

However, we forgot to book dinner in advance and weren’t able to eat at the hotel, which is something to keep in mind when staying in such a remote location with not much around.

"Perfect relaxing base for visiting Port Arthur"

Stewart’s Bay Lodge is a series of log cabins set out in the woods around the bay and less than five minutes drive to the Port Arthur historic site. The cabins offer a large kitchen, diner, living room space with a number of bedrooms and a balcony looking out over the bay. There is a certain rustic charm about the cabins but they don’t lack for modern amenities. There is a washing machine and dryer room and an extremely modern and efficient bathroom/shower set up. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of spare pillows and blankets. The master bed also has an electric blanket for cool nights. Locking the front door was a bit of a challenge and the safe code system completely defeated us. WiFi only worked in the Lodge reception area and the site’s restaurant. Talking of the restaurant, the On the Bay is a very pleasant experience. You sit looking out at the bay whist tasting some of the excellent dishes and fine wines on offer. The Lodge also has its own small beach with wonderful soft sands surrounded by trees. As I have said, the cream on the cake is that you can beat the crowds coming over from Hobart and get into the historic site early and when you tire of walking and seeing, you can be back in your hut in less than five minutes.

"Well equiped cabins in a bushland setting with a nice restaurant onsite. Close to Port Arthur"

The black garlic butter on the steak is amazing!

It took 2hrs to receive our main meals. Calamari was oily and the bbq prawns dry. It would’ve been nice to receive some update from the staff regarding the delays
