Mercure Pontianak City Center

The staff were welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the facilities were well-maintained. Breakfast had a good variety with fresh options and friendly service — perfect start to the day. Great central location, close to shops, cafes, and main attractions, making it easy for our family to get around.

The room could have been a little quieter at night, but overall it didn’t affect our comfort. A few more child-friendly options at breakfast.

the staffs are very friendly

1. there were several nights where they had events by the pool for hours until late. it was incredibly loud and disturbing. they did not need to broadcast to the entire hotel, and it did not quiet down after i called the reception to ask them to turn down the volume. a hotel should not host loud events when at least half of the hotel can hear it. 2. the rooms are pretty run down. there are molds in the shower, and the surfaces are pretty dusty. there staffs also forgot to clean my floor when they did room service. the rooms smell like burns, and the power went off way too frequently. 3. i had the worst massage ever. the masseuse was not skilled or professional. lots of pinching, squeezing, and stroking that are unskilled. the sheets also felt like they haven’t been cleaned for a while. the lotion they used also looked like it’s been sitting there for ages — the oil and lotion are separated, very gross. there’s a lot of feedback i can give, but most importantly, because she didn’t know what she was doing she caused pain that may lead to injury. do not get a massage here. it’s also incredibly overpriced, and you’re definitely not getting the bang for the buck in any sense.
