Hampton Inn Richmond - South

We stopped here for the night on our way to Florida. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly.

Our room was clean, staff at desk could have been friendlier, breakfast was okay but food was not hot. We did not use the gym or pool. The bed was very comfortable and our room was spacious.

Front desk was not welcoming Definitely was still training but no enthusiasm at all forgot to ask for my ID the only words from him were insert your credit card And didn’t tell me anything else Now luckily I have stayed there before and I know the process and where things are Didn’t say have a nice stay or tell me what time breakfast was or anything! I had to ask for waters as a Hilton honors member just expected more I hope he gets better!

Room was not ready at check in. The receptionist said the room was not cleaned and she would call when it was ready. She never called and when I returned to the hotel around 6pm that’s when I was informed that my room was ready. After an 8 hr drive I had to wait 3 hrs to get some rest

Rating = 3.5 I saw several mixed reviews, so we were a bit apprehensive about staying. Just needed a place to sleep while traveling home from Florida. And, we had a good stay. This is not a luxury resort hotel, but good for an overnight rest stop. Responses to some of the negative comments: Hotel decor- it’s not a new hotel, but it was clean. Didn’t see mold or bugs in our 5th floor room. Carpets (in halls and room) could use replacement. I wear socks in hotels everywhere no matter the rating. Check-in - We arrived at 9:30 pm and the auto front doors were closed. There was a phone, we dialed 0 and the woman opened the doors. Good safety factor. (There is an online keyless check-in; maybe that would be better for anyone travelling very late.) Someone mentioned no “top sheet” on the bed. I thought so too and asked the front desk for a top sheet. She advised the top sheet was tucked in under the pillows - and it was! All good. Noise from I95 - The hotel is conveniently located right off I95; it’s to be expected and wasn’t horrible (but, I did grow up in Brooklyn and used to some noise to go to sleep.) Breakfast- they had mini omelets, ham and potatoes; make your own waffles; yogurts, pasties/muffins/fruit/grits and coffee/tea. It was fine. Staff - all helpful and friendly. It was a nice hotel. But it was also kind of dated. They had a nice breakfast buffet. The waffles are very good. The room that my wife and I slept in was quiet, peaceful and nice. I just didn't like the smells from the exhaust system. Safe travels everyone.

The hotel was clean and very easy to locate off the main Highway. We needed a handicap accessible room and the room was plenty large and hey Roland shower. The breakfast was very good and the beds were comfortable.
