iStay Precinct Adelaide

Check in staff friendly and helpful otherwise did not have any other contact with staff. Place was clean, shower was good pressure. Washing machine and dryer provided.

Kitchen was less than expected, small bar fridge, 1 tea towel and no dishcloth for 1 week stay. Minimal kitchen facilities such as bowls. Only 2 bath towels for 2 people for a weeks stay. The corridors between the lifts and room are very smelly from permanent residences cooking, very unpleasant.

Location excellent walked to the theatre which was the purpose of our journey

The beds were super comfortable! I had the best sleep iv had in a long time. It was so nice to go to a hotel room that actually has comfortable beds. The shower was great, good pressure and the body wash provided smelt really nice. The pool area was really nice, the lap pool was nice and warm.

First annoying thing was trying to find the hotel. We booked t IStay however the building name was something completely different, I walked in and had to ask the reception if I was in the right place, they confirmed yes, I am. When we walked into the elevator it smelt like cigarette smoke, it was so disgustingly strong we felt like we couldn't breathe. We walked out into the lobby, and it wasn't much better, it smelt horrible and dirty and that it was covering up more cigarette smoke. Once we walked into our room the smell wasn't much better. It smelt like they tried to cover up a dirty room. The carpet had stains all over it as well as the lounge. The lounge smelt dirty, i used one of their warm blankets from the cupboard while on the lounge but the blanket smelt terrible as well. We tried to relax in the balcony area but was unable to as people have clearly been smoking in the balcony area, so it smelt horrible. The hot tub was full of sand, i could feel the sand hitting my skin when the jets were on so defiantly not a relaxing experience, the sauna wood was all rotten on the outside as well. The photos on the website defiantly do not match the real-life experience. Theres notes on the outside of the elevator saying there's been a high rate of cars being broken into, this was super concerning as the carpark was locked and needed a buzzer to get in which means the people breaking in are the ones staying in the complex. All the cutlery was greasy and had food on them so the cleaners clearly don't check the cutlery has been washed, it was disgusting. I went to make myself a cup of tea and the kettle was completely rusted on the inside, absolute disgusting.

room was well set up and clean. liked the balcony how it could be open or enclosed. close walk to pub. staff clean dishes for you. staff were great to deal with.

biggest negative was there was a sewerage smell coming from the toilet which was quite strong. only other things that could have improved: bigger couch as 4 people staying there. a fan in main bedroom a cloth for the kitchen to wipe benches down (not just green scourer sponge) a small amount of dish liquid, again just to wipe down things etc

The view was ok

The fact they joined to King single beds together to make a queen bed and they were uneven and the I woke up with sore back

Lost expensive bracelet realised when I was home rang hotel thru found it and left for me at reception thank U do much

The washer and dryer. The team upgraded us without asking as it was our golden wedding anniversary, wine and chocolates were gifted too, so kind. Wonderful staff here!

Nothing, we loved it. Only one teensy weensy concern, not really worth mentioning, the shower floor was a little slippery. As we are older it’s always a worry that we’ll take a tumble. Why not leave a rubber/plastic bath mat in the shower to use if needed. As I say, hardly worth mentioning… great stay
