iStay Precinct Adelaide

I booked an apartment for myself . I wanted the use of pool and spa sauna, and being able to do some washing and cooking. It was a super handy apartment. The apartment was in a different building to the oaks reception . I guess its sort of run by oaks. The view was nice from the apartment with the sky view. The bed was super comfortable. The heater/aircon was nice in the winter . Staff were helpful. And reception manned 24/7. Sauna was lovely. Super close to lots of good restaurants and bars. Nice to walk around and check out adelide on foot. Free street parking at night during certain hours.

The pillows couldve been a bit firmer. I asked about the door locks (someone else here had a concern too). I stay in hotels a lot for work so I was surprised when the receptionist said it was a fire hazard having a secondary lock. It only had the key lock and no way to lock from the inside. And what looked like a securing lock lever..was loose and no longer operational. So im not sure. Wouldve been nice to have a chain lock or something additional. Especially as my next thing was it felt a bit dodgy at night there with people shouting and it felt like a shared complex for people that need housing assistance..

My friend was a guest written on the number of people staying. We booked this room for his birthday, I paid almost $400 and he wasn't even allowed to access the building because the security said he needed to have ID, when I wasn't even told about this at reception only to write the names who were staying.

The room size, the balcony, the views, location, safe secure parking, amenities a plenty.

A bit grubby around the entrance to the access , but thats not necessarily the fault if the motel r fee

Rooms were nice and good location

Staff were terrible. Tried to pay for rooms for work colleagues over the phone and they would only take a credit card in person. Made it very difficult to navigate. Unprofessional. No communication between different check-in days so had to go through the whole process several times. Would not stay here again.
