Hampton Inn & Suites Gainesville Downtown

Great location

The property was great for our dog, but it's a very urban environment and we dealt with it. Room was roomy and super clean. Staff was Extremely Helpful with the very difficult parking situation. There's a city garage a short walk away you would have to use M-F but we got lucky and got a street spot in front of the door on a Sunday night. We were there for a concert and would go back here for the next good show in Gainesville.

It was very loud at night due to the location. Music at 2am, motorcycles, sirens.

I checked in on a Monday evening with no reservations for one night only. Carlos gave me a room with 2 queen beds. I went out to dinner after dropping off my luggage. After driving all day I was exhausted and decided to go to bed early. I usually like to sleep near the window because I like to sleep in a cool room. Well unfortunately that bed's sheets were never changed. I didn't call the front desk because I was too tired to deal with it. So I slept in the other bed which looked OK. One thing I can say is that I slept great because the mattress was comfortable. I always bring my own comforter because hotel bedding is always so flimsy that I would freeze to death if I didn't. When I checked out in the morning I mentioned the sheets, and Carlos apologized, but that was it. Then I was charged for parking my car. When he mentioned the night before that they would validate the parking ticket, I expected the whole $25 charge to be validated. But apparently they only give you a measly $3.00 discount. I was disappointed that I not only paid for my room overnight, but also had to pay for my car to stay overnight. Sorry, but that to me is ridiculous. I asked for a discount since my sheets were dirty, and they offered to give me points. Well points don't do me any good because I don't stay at hotels very often. They didn't care...it was take it or leave it attitude. Well, the next time I will consider any other hotel other than Hampton/Hilton.

Really a nicely maintained property with wonderful proximity to downtown Gainesville restaurants and venues. Tiffany at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean, quiet. Great stay, thank you.

Easy access. Pleasant and courteous staff. Clean and centrally located.
