Great place to stop off highway.

I typically try to avoid leaving negative reviews as I know that things can happen but unfortunately I was not left with a choice this time. We arrived slightly later than planned (around 10:30pm). As I went to check in the person ahead of me was checking out and ensuring their card would not be charged for whatever reason they were leaving. This let me to think they had experienced some sort of issue but I didn’t think much of it. I checked in and we got to our room. The room itself felt somewhat dated and not very clean. There was a strange odor in the room. I was going to write it off as a potential lack of help until we pulled out the sofa bed for my kids to sleep. The mattress looked terribly dirty and there were several visible bedbugs in numerous places. This was the dealbreaker for us and we notified the front desk of the issue and they allowed us to leave with no penalty so we were able to find accommodations elsewhere. When we arrived at the desk to let them know what was happening the two employees were talking and discussing a “list” of issues that had been encountered that evening that had been documented on a piece of paper. This led me to believe the issues I discovered were likely not an isolated incident but that the staff was aware and hopefully working to find resolution. This stay was certainly not what I expected but I hope that they can solve their issues and provide a positive guest experience for visitors in the future.

Location

The staff was so friendly and nice. Breakfast was a variety of options every morning. Walkable to a couple of restaurants. The area was quiet and safe.

Disappointed. Disgusting room with old food in the dishwasher. Hair all over the sheets. Sink would not drain. Garbages were not empty. One had USED Q-tips with earwax on them. I went to the main desk and requested that John come up and take a look and he just told me I believe you that there would be no need for him to look at things I made this request two more times which he declined to see the room. He ultimately made some calls to put me at the Fairfield up the road, which was an incredible improvement, so much cleaner and better. There was no way I could allow my seven and 10 year-old children let alone a full grown adult to sleep in this disgusting dingy, dirty filthy hotel. Marriott should strip their name off of this location. It’s a shame.

It is pet friendly. We did not bring our dog, but initially planned to.

The swimming pool is always out of commission We had to switch rooms the second night because the refrigerator wasn’t working

very convenient to the highway, breakfast was great, room was alittle dated but nicely laid out and had what i needed
