Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort

We stayed here for 5 nights and whilst the hotel, and its facilities, were fine they were spread across 3 buildings on the side of a hill. So, having booked the best room with sea view, we were on the 8th floor of the 3rd building up the hill. Not a problem for the hill, but it meant that you had to take a lift in each of the three buildings to get from reception to the room, in addition to the walk between buildings which also involved "steps" Again, not a problem other than each building only had 1 lift and everyone had to get to the 5th floor of our building for breakfast, or to one of the only evening bars on the 6th and 9th floors. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel (but not Ao Nang) but would not stay again due to the layout and accessibility.

We had such a lovely stay at Avani! Special shout out to Heidi and Yob for their support throughout our stay. Also all the bar staff at the pool and rooftop! We would definitely come again :)

We were given a great welcome by Benz and Sun on reception who sorted us out with a room with a great view of the sea. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms at the front of the building (above McDonald's) are noisy from the road, so if you're staying more than the odd night, you want to be in a different building. Breakfast was excellent, served on the 5th floor with a great view. Five was the omelette chef and he remembered our order every day. Milk and Pine were our lovely waitresses and Sanjay the chef was always on hand checking that we were happy. One thing I would have liked to see was a hand sanitizer station. Happy hour cocktails are served at different bars, 2 for 1 (250 baht plus tax for 2). The view from the 9th floor at sunset was stunning. The staff mix a great cocktail. Pina Colada was my favourite. They have music some days and different themed dining events. Both pools were lovely, but the 6th floor infinity pool has the best view. Sunbeds are in short supply. We last visited this hotel around 13 years ago and it has grown a lot, but the staff are it's biggest asset and we loved our stay.

Great resort which gets you out of the main strip for some peace! The staff are quick to help you and are all friendly with a smile. Sunbeds fill up quickly so secure one early. Book a sea view room so you are not facing the busy mains strip! Mini bar isn’t too expensive or eating inside the hotel but why would you when just on your door step are the most amazing Thai family restaurants

I booked a Superior King room at Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort for three nights in January 2025. I previously stayed at this property in 2017 and chose to return based on that positive experience. Due to hygiene and maintenance issues, I checked out after one night and forfeited the remaining two nights. Issues in the room included: * Mold on fabric furnishings, including lampshades * Dust and grime on appliances such as the hot water kettle * Sewage odor coming from the bathroom plumbing * Bathroom sink not draining (standing water) * No hot water in the shower * Visibly soiled fabric furniture (chaise lounge/sofa) * Persistent musty odor throughout the room, even with HVAC running in both “dry” and “cool” modes * An insect found in the bed overnight I was initially assigned a second-floor room facing the street, which experienced considerable noise from traffic and nearby bars with live music. Given the room category, I was surprised by the location. I requested a room change, and staff offered an alternative promptly. Unfortunately, the second room presented the hygiene and maintenance issues listed above. Rather than request a third room, I chose to check out early, as I no longer had confidence that another room would be materially different. On a positive note, the front desk staff and porters were polite and helpful during check-in, room changes, and checkout. However, service alone could not offset the condition of the accommodations.
