This is a typical Japanese hotel in Nara City. The location is just incredible, next to the most famous temples and parks. Service is good and the room has a traditional tatamis beds, really romantic experience to share.

"Excellent Ryokan"

10.0

Excellent Ryokan. Quite a treat to stay at a Japanese-style Inn. Staff is polite and respectful. The outdoor onsen has a beautiful view of the nearby pagoda. Ideal location to visit the Nara Deer park and Todaiji temple. One note of caution to future guests : Don't try to find this hotel on your own!! Hire a taxi from Nara station.

"Great experience in traditional ryokan."

10.0

If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy the experience of a traditional Japanese Inn including a multi course meal and traditional breakfast, this establishment is not only good but cheaper than most others offering the same experience. Worth the trip out of the big cities to Nara, there is a lot to do and see here but you will find that the hotel offers enough to keep you occupied.

"Extremely good service and food!!!"

10.0

Asukasou is located in a quiet area very close to the deer park in Nara, it was a 3-5 minute taxi ride from the Nara JR station. The room was very clean and designed to make you feel at home (a Japanese style home). We were served Japanese tea and sweets the moment we arrived our room and the staff were very friendly. We picked the package with dinner and breakfast and I am very glad I did because the food was fantastic and authentic. I really enjoyed the outdoor onsen (hot spring) even though it was a little cold to go from the changing area (downstairs) to the onsen which was upstairs but other than that I loved it. I would definitely come back again and recommend Asukasou to anyone who is planning to stay in Nara.

"Fun enjoyable Japanese stay"

8.0

Great Japanese experience. Very high quality place. Perfect location for touring. Only reservation is the price, but it seems all ryokans are pricey. Great view of pagoda. For a splurge I would stay here again.
