This hotel was sooooooo nice! The staff were very attentive to details. I arrived in a taxi, and one of the staff members met me outside and carried my heavy bag from the taxi to the desk, and then escorted me to my room. Even though I do not speak Japanese, the staff made every effort to make my stay easy... they even brought me an English copy of the Japanese Times, and stopped by my room to deliver tea and coffee throughout the day when I was in my room. I got breakfast and dinner with my stay for both nights, and OMG the food was delicious! I think it may have been the best meals I ate in Japan (other than my lunch in Kobe :) ). I also used the private bath. It was beautiful! I loved everything about my stay there, and would happily go back.

Very pleasant stay which is located within walking distance from Nara Park, the main attraction. The staff were extremely courteous although there was a language barrier with some of them. It was an interesting first stay for us in a ryokan, and indulging in a full-spread Japanese breakfast. Would definitely come back to stay if I'm ever in the area!

We were greeted quickly and checked in EARLY--which doesn't usually happen from my experience in Japan. It was an amazing traditional Japanese Inn. I was travelling with my husband my 12 year old son and his friend. We had a wonderful experience and I think everyone should either stay here or in another traditional Ryokan for the experience. We were taken to our room and told about the room, the facilities, given robes and slippers to use in the baths. The baths were AMAZING with a gorgeous view outside. It was very peaceful. The futons were very comfortable. The rooms, bathrooms and facilities were clean. The staff was very helpful with any questions A wonderful experience. I would absolutely stay here again!

Spacious Japanese style room close to Nara Park. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Note that this is a 4 floor concrete city building that is decorated inside in traditional Japanese style.

Nice location, nice staff and very nice hotel bath

Open air public bath was great. But not sure how it can cope during peak season with only 2 shower "stalls" pre and post bath. Staff are very friendly.

Amazing room and fantastic baths! Really relaxing atmosphere with great service. Just what we needed after 2 weeks of trotting around Japan.

The hotel is definitely recommended for a day's stay to experience Japanese culture and heritage. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hot open bath is worth an experience and is definitely worth the visit. The hotel is located in the city center and is a walkable distance from all the major attractions. The are enough restaurants and convenience stores located with a 5 minute walking radius from the hotel. I'm guessing that the hotel does not see many foreigners as all the equipment in the room had Japanese instructions for operations. The hotel staff are however very understanding and will put in significant efforts to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be. They will explain the directions in English to make sure you do not face any difficulties.
