Hotel Africana

I had a good stay at Hotel Africana overall. The location is excellent and very convenient, which made getting around easy. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating — I really appreciated being allowed to check in early. Breakfast offered a decent selection and was a nice start to the day.

The hotel does feel a bit dated in places, particularly the carpets and decor, which could use some refreshing. The bathrooms were fine but would benefit from having floor towels provided.

It was the conference location. That’s it.. nothing else beyond that.

Not enough towels; room looked out onto the pool where there was music and noise every single night until about 11pm - sometimes later. Furniture etc is dated or needing repair. Staff had no accountability when requests were made - didn’t call back or respond. Kitchen was below the rooms so the smell of oil and food floated up into the rooms if the balcony door was open. Balcony door didn’t fully close so AC was useless AND it wasn’t possible to keep smells out. Fire alarm went off accidentally one night - many went to reception and staff were continuing with work saying it was an electrical fault (looked surprise to see us there). Generally a terrible, terrible stay. DON’T STAY THERE!

Rooms facing the pool a very noisy. On a couple of nights, there was a band playing next to the pool. this was very loud and disturbing in the room.
